Description:

A few weeks ago someone uploaded the AK-47 episode from this series to TPB, I went looking for more and the full series has already been posted to some other torrent sites and has a fair number of seeds, but for some reason was never posted to the 'bay. Well anyways, here is is. The 8 or so episodes I have watched so far are all in decent quality. Held by world leaders, outlaws, frontier men, gangsters, police, soldiers, and sportsmen, the gun has been a prominent fixture in many cultures for centuries. Explore the history of the firearm and see some of the most revolutionary designs ever created. From handheld weapons to giants mounted on battleships, see the history of the gun. * See how different nations have utilized guns in world wars, small battles, and domestic disputes. * Discover how different designs shaped the way battle was waged. * The complete 32-episode series on 10 discs. Ranging in size, power, use, and style, the gun has been a part of human conflict for centuries, Its use has varied from hunting and protection to international combat and urban dispute. Trace the history of the gun from its inception in the 14th Century. Stripped of its military might and forbidden to re-arm by the Treaty of Versailles, the German Army under Adolf Hitler created new weapons to march into war once again. Surrounded by enemies, Israel has developed some of the world's most effective weapons. American gangsters of the 1920's and 30's wielded powerful handguns to help them thwart the law. See the guns that changed history, from the long-range shooting rifle to the sidearms of military leaders. Examine guns mounted on planes and ships and the firearms used to kill historic figures. Discover the varied designs created by manufacturers like Colt, Smith & Wesson, and Winchester. Meet gunslingers, dictators, commanders, police officers, and outlaws along the way. 01. Nice Torrent, this will eat ur bandwith for 2 days... :) the episode 36 and 37 is spelled wrong and should read ''Guns of Infamy'' and ''Guns of Infamy 2'' instead of infantry... Quality nice and u will fit all on 8 singel layer DVD's.

Monkdaddy1 (2010-09-08)

Would love to get this file before 2012 any chance someone could put a little bandwidth into this.
thx to OP for upping this

Monkdaddy1 (2010-09-08)

is there any scene info or is this an indi? is it tv or dvd?

novamdm (2010-09-11)

@Monk: It's a TV rip. However, this series is now 12 years old and most of the footage is mainly either decades old or interviews, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. It tooks me weeks to download myself so just keep at it. A better way to go about it might be to set a few files to high priority in your BT client, and enjoy them while you wait for more episodes to finish.
@fritz: Again I am simply posting the torrent I went looking for an found, am not responsible for the files or filenames. But glad others appreciating it.

very bias towards what the Americans put into the subject of guns, Great Britain was using guns before Americas was even founded, but that seems to be skipped, in fact all the history of guns in Europe has been skipped, the first episode for example goes straight to America, and how they started the gun boom industry....
meaning about three centuries of history on guns have been skipped...... such a waste.
this series is from a single minded view of America, and what they did, and although there is nothing wrong with that, it does mean the beginning of this series is missing so much information from what other countries did for the gun industry, which quite frankly is a lot considering how guns have been around LONG before America existed!
It also brings into argument the bias this series has on the overview off "tales of the guns"

RegPulp (2012-04-11)

i forgot to add, when taking into account of the entire world, arabs were using guns back in the 14th century, and late 15th century the Ottoman empire was using muskets in it's standard infantry, again no mention of that..... the title should of been "Americans history of guns"
that kind of title would of been far less misleading, because that is really what this series IS!

KarpoofdaJulii (2012-08-23)

This is a great series from before the History Channel turned to shit.

chemchem (2012-11-25)

@RegPulp - I agree, but that is almost too much history to include, especially starting from Chinese gunpowder. Innovations were also slow during the early history and guns were not the main weapon used until later. The series does talk about foreign innovators and early guns, to be fair most of the rapid gun history happened later and they have full episodes on foreign guns, so the title is correct.
Any show is going to show nationalism, especially when it's on history. They have many more docs about early guns. Maybe you should contact one of your stations and have them invest a bunch of money in a series about guns.

I was the one who ripped the series and uploaded it to some torrent site I wasn't familiar with.
Novamdm.. THANK YOU so much for getting my work accross to pirate bay. I spent many days carefully ripping the series and I'm so glad to see it being enjoyed.

I was the one who ripped the series from my DVD collection and uploaded it to some torrent site I wasn't familiar with and was unable to maintain the seed at the time.
Novamdm.. THANK YOU so much for getting this work over to pirate bay. I spent many days carefully ripping the series and I'm so glad to see this great series being enjoyed by so many

This is a great very in-depth series about the history of firearms. This originally aired on the History Channel in 1998. Way before HD was a thing. So the quality is a little low but that is not the person who ripped its fault.
