WOW. So I sat for hrs waiting for this to finish. Mounted ,installed and cracked. To my surprise its not working for me. I think its something with the crack. Loads and displays everything horribly slow and I know its not my rig:

Hey guys what program did you use to mount/burn? I have used Daemon tools and Alcohol %120 and when i use them to mount the image the game menu comes up with play and uninstall, so i am unable to install the game. When i click play the game starts to load but freezes at the activision information before it fully loads. Also when i try to click the crack icon it gives me the same prototypeenginef.dll error as some have been getting. Because i cant install the game this means that i cannot rename/replace this dll file. PLEASE HELP!!

It's most likely the case that Prototype isn't compatiable with the Xbox 360 controller; but either way I have a solution.
Go to Google and search for a piece of software called 'Xapper', it basically allows you to assign keyboard keys to your Xbox controller.
So when you hit a key on your controller, it's as if you are pressing it on your computer keyboard.

woah okay wtf...
i mounted, installed fine, got into the game just fine. Started playing. Saw a cutscene. Everything was smooth till i started playing. Then all I see is this mas expansion of auburn, and when it explodes i can see silhouettes of trees and people and i can see all the windows of the cars... but not the cars themselves. Tried restarting, didn't work. anyone else having this problem? I'm gonna try a reinstall and see if that solves anything.

Hey the game works fine and all but its slow. I know my PC can handle this. The fps is quite low... not sure what to do. Its not like the game freezes every other second or anything but it just moves a bit slower than normal (sort of like slow motion). This is it. OMG This game is AWESOME! Activision games always were teh sux for me, never expected this. IT'S SOOOO GOOD. And kicking Elizabeth Greene's ass is just awesome. I warn tho, this game is ultra-addicting once you start to play, you won't stop... and to those talking the engine is bad, check ur PC settings, i can play this @ 1680x1050 maxed out with max AA (4x) @ 186fps... So if my sucky (LOLwut) PC gives 186fps maxed lower end machines should make it playable. OMG you need to get this one NOW! btw, my specs are:

Can someone help me?! I downloaded the game, mounted it, put in the crack and so far everything worked, but when I started to play the game it went really slow, and the sound was weird. It was kept cutting off every other second, and sounded weird...
Then the graphics were really awful too, all grainy and weird. And I know the game is NOT supposed to look like that because I've seen screenshots of it, and then it was all smooth and stuff.. Installed nicely and everything but I ran into the problem of not being able to use air tendril barrage when equipped with the Blade or Whip, unless I hit E and right-click at EXACTLY the same time. Fantastic game, works 95% (normal crashes probably)!

@Skywalker716 > The install directory is the fold you installed the game in. I guess that the directory is "C:\Program Files\Activision\Prototype". However I cannot be sure because I have not yet downloaded the game. Once you have cracked the game it will not have any issues.

1. Open the file [ ..\Prototype\00audio.rcf ] via ScarfaceExplorer.
2. Extract files into the [ ..\Prototype\Audio ] folder.
3. Rename [ ..\Prototype\Audio\audio\ambience.p3d ] into something else.
4. Rename [ ..\Prototype\00audio.rcf ] into something else.
5. Select all files and folders (Ctrl ? A) in the [ ..\Prototype\Audio\audio ] folder.

For sound issues try this:
Goto your sound settings panel where you have the equalizer settings and change the sound profile to pop, rock, classic or any other. Whichever works for you.
Start the game and you just might get the sound.
Worked for me on "Rock" profile
I accidently discovered this, long story how.
If it still doesn't work, i guess look up for a patch or something.

Downloaded. Installed. First working fine. But again as I read in comments there is bug with sound. Then it started to freeze, though i have good video card etc. Then at Loading of second level it just doesn't load. Already loading for like an half an hour, but nothing. Don't know what that might be.
Just wanted to tell also game is interesting. Weird beginning, you start from the end of the game, then go into beginning of the story on the second level. But they start to explain you how to control your cute freak only there, not in the beginning, that's also weird.
If anybody knows how to fix bugs I have written before...let me know.

In windows 7 this the install directory pathway is C:\Program files (x86)\Activision\Prototype
the crack found in the folder called crack i found is useless. The crack that worked for me is a 2,217KB file found in the .iso in the folder RAZOR1911. try copying that into the install directory

I am not sure why some people with real good rigs lag but i am only using a gtx460 3gb ram and 2.6 ghz duo processor (soon to be updating) and i have not had 1 lag yet well apart from testing a glitch out which sucked lol overall try lowering the detail and resolution it should work fine other than that see what you can update abit more make sure you have latrest direct x and windows updates also clear ur system of crap files u dont use to give it plenty more room and close background programs to reduce cpu usage

I mounted it,installed it and so.. Then I wanted to put the crack in the installed folder,but it kept saying that it was in use,so i just deleted the one in the installed folder and made a copy of the crack in the installed folder.
But when I try to start it,it keeps saying

for people who get the message saying you need directx 9.0c or something and you know you already have it, this is because the crack is not of the same name as the original exe probably because it called prototypef (2). just rename it to prototypef and it should work. but anyways, great torrent. seems to work perfectly. pretty interesting game too

and for people with sound issues, you need to change your audio quality to 24 bit 48000hz or less. this also seemed to fix performance issues for me. to do this go to control panel, sound, double click on speakers, advanced, and click on the thing under default format. it should be the third from the bottom. this should fix all sound problems.

This game has been known to have problems with some types of usb devices. Also it will NOT run correctly with higher sound quality than what i specified before. For me the first mission on my computer ran with poor performance even though i have way over the recommended requirements (although it may just be from not having the correct sound quality), so if the first mission seems choppy dont worry about it. the rest of the game will probably run flawlessly.

Some weird problem just turned up: I mount the ISO and begin the install. When it reachs a certain point, it nmounts the ISO and I cant mount it again, every time a try to re-mount it and continiou the installation it unmounts it again. Anyone else have this problem? Can anyone help ?

Sound stuttering, cracking aka Chipmunk audio
Go to your sound card’s control panel.
Locate the option that allows you change the default audio format for the card.
Set the default format to 24-bits, 48000Hz or less (if it doesn't work with 48000Hz, try 24 bits, 44100Hz)

hey guys not sure if its posted here yet but just wanted to let those that have not got an answer about installing to read this..
ive been downloading and seeding here for a little over a year now and demo'd some great games , heard some music etc, i highly suggest seeding if u are to download, and buy it if u like it, respecting the uploaders as well.
as for installing, over a year of doing it all i do even with iso's most of the time, i just winrar to a new folder i set to desktop, extract files to the folder, 90% of time it will say something like crack, bunch of dll files setup.exe (as an application) *whatevergame.exe) etc...i run setup.exe...let it install. if has multiple disc folders ill mount the ISO files with daemon tools, once installed, open crack folder, gave the exe file, and any DLL files in folder and paste them in directory u installed the game. go to directory create shortcut to desktop and enjoy... ill try and help with more technical issues now that i decided to register .....btw sorry for WALL OF TEXT but rushing to get things ready for this game...making backup disc ready, raeding comments to see if i need to get a crack for it or if its available etc...

got a problem that hopeflly some1 can help me with
i completed the first mission and went to danas freinds house but after that cinematic the screen goes black and nothing happens. it hasent frozen because i can alt-tab out of it and t hasent crashed. i have windows 7 premium 64 bit and i more than meat the system requirements. the install went fine and have had no other problems before this. any help is apreciated.

Game works flawless for me so far, been playing it alot past couple days.

I don't know why this game isn't more popular. it's badass. Graphics are great, and you can do some crazy ass shit like run up the side of buildings pick up cars throw them at helicopters, snipe enemies from rooftops, all kinds of upgrades powers and abilities you unlock. the first mission, it'll be hella choppy unless you have a state of the art rig, cause there is a CRAPLOAD to process and render (so many models, so much AI, and, like I said, there's a FUCKTON to render, considering you're in Time Square in the afternoon during the viral outbreak). The rest has been running fine.
Don't forget to download latest Games for Windows Live - Solves a lot of your problems.
I believe this one is 3.2
But all in all, it's a pretty simple process
1. Unrar using winrar
2. mount using %120 Alcohol or, my favourite, Daemon Tools
3. Install
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HAVING "Wrong Disc" ERRORS:
4. Copy the crack (located in the download - should say prototyperf or something like that) and paste it in the Prototype game directory (C: > Program Files (x86) > Activision > Prototype)
5. locate the file you JUST pasted in that directory - right click and select "Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)"
voila! your game should be running fine when selecting this desktop shortcut.
For those of you having a problem with the first level (following the prologue)... Did you not read the prompts? Use tab, choose da choppa, then click. Boom, alex throws a fucking car at da choppa. And you can go off on your merry way, sprinting 90 degrees up buildings and what not.
I've skimmed through the comments and I think I've answered everything that I can...
If you don't know how to install a torrent, I suggest you either avoid torrents altogether, cause you probably don't wanna put in ANY effort (It's called google). It can get pretty hairy... I dont wanna tell you what I had to do to get my rig to run Fallout New Vegas... a good 3 hours on that and another 4 on Borderlands :S

- click START - type MSCONFIG into search bar - click on Boot - Advanced Options - in Number of Processor you must set 1 (doesn't matter if you have dual-core or quad core), of course click Apply and OK....if this works for you and you will get error sometime later, repeat one of these solutions....dont forget to set it back (just uncheck Number of Processors field) when you uninstall the game.

Okay, just like you guys I had the same problem. I finally found out what I did wrong. First of all do NOT, repeat, do NOT, uncompress the file. It's treated both as zip file AND ISO. mount it, instead and then install. Ignore the windows blah blah blah and directx or w/e its called. After you install, go back to where the file is now placed. Open your start menu, go to computer-> program files (x86)-> activision -> prototype. Here, you drag the file inside the "crack" folder from the torrent and drop it into the prototype file. replace the old application. done.

I've encountered one problem though, the game was giving me the "Prototype.exe has stopped working.. etc." and I've been trying to restart the game multiple times with no positive effect. What has worked for me then was lowering the graphic options and resolution and it worked. After I've managed to play thru this one chapter I've maxed the graphic and it was again working like a charm. Hope it'll help if anyone will encounter this problem.

I found a solution to the memory leak of Prototype 2 !! if you have ATI Radeon graphic card download a software called Ati Tray tools install it then go to the 3D category you should find "Flip Queue Size" and set it to 1, if you have Nvidia then simply go to the control panel look for "Pre Rendered Frames" and set it to 1 !! i tried it and it works fine now exept for some loss of FPS but the game is still playable

It should work, just copy the file named 'prototype2' over to your game directory and when it asks to replace, do so.

Step by step instructions-If you can't understand this then buy the damn game!
1. Click Get this torrent (Note-You have to have Utorrent or any other torrent download service to download any torrents on TPB)*
2. Let it download!
3. Mount the disk image file using Power ISO or Daemon Tools.
4. Go into the disk you just mounted and double-click the setup.
5. It will install (That may take sometime time)*
6. After installing the game copy the files from the Crack folder (In the Prototype torrent download folder) to the Installation folder.

Hello guys, I read about 15 pages of comments but found nothing about my issue. When I install it and run the game, my monitor says "unsupported resolution". My is 1024*768 =( May be problem is not in game itself, but still I can't solve this shit =(
I supposed that it's the configuration of the game, but now I think I was wrong about it.
Will to to reinstall the game and see if anything changes =D I believe in miracles though =D voodoo gaming

@Musickiller: Right click in the exe or the shortcut to it, select properties; then click the tab compatibility; check the box next to "run in 640 x 480 screen resolution", then give it a try. (this problem happens when you use a tv as your monitor)

Hey Guys well I downloaded everything but When I put the crack inside the install dir i try to play and my screen goes black as if its going to start but then it just freezes and to get out I have to restart my computer to get back into my desktop so any help =D

i coud not mount the game with magic iso so i extracted with win rar im installing now hope it works but it dosent mount with iso lol
