I don't know what version this is, but the initial release of the game was certainly no universal binary. Which means it won't run very fast on an intel mac. I don't know if there's a universal patch available though. A lot of old software has been updated to run natively on intel during the last year.

Generals works fine but when I try and mount Zero Hour I get an error 'Invaild Checksum' and the same when I try and mount it with Toast. Any ideas?

right click on the .dmg of zero hour and hit "mount it"
it should now have a DVD icon on your desktop.
drag that into toast and burn it.

Zero Hour still not working, Disk Utility can't verify it without errors and Toast nor the mac can't mount it without errors.
Giving up, just thought I'd mention it. Generals was good though.

If your on a intel mac you must update to the latest version which upgrades the game to run natively on intel........problem is when you do this it asks for a serial.......

Figrued it out, update your quicktime engine and it updates the drivers, thus fixing the problem

Is anybody else wondering what the purpose of the Cracks folder is because I don't see any difference in the "cracked version" and the regular, they both prompt for the dvd but at different times. Regular: before it starts Cracked: before you start a mission. And I don't know how to use the "no dvd" crack....Any Help?

Toast is a mac application that, among several other things, can mount disk images. That means that the application takes a disk image (for example, commandandconquer.dmg or GTASanAndreas.iso) and puts the contents on a virtual drive. MEANING it makes the stuff in the disk image file LOOK like it's actually on a dvd-rom in your physical drive.
You know, I wish I could tell the world that they should google their questions before they ask them... wink, wink.

2. Generals downloaded fine, but when I went to play it. I've noticed that there is no textures on the ground, they all turned black. Someone before said he updated the drivers, but what drivers do I update?

nevermind, figured it out. zero hour wont update to universal binary by default when you run the update, you have to do it manually.
Follow this:
For Zero Hour update follow these steps: 1. Download this update 2. Run it. It will only update Command & Conquer Generals but not Zero Hour 3. Download Pacifist (www.charlessoft.com) 4. Get the file EN_CCG1.0.4_ZH1.0.2_Installer.pkg inside the CC Patch and open it with Pacifist. 5. Extract the file Zero Hour.app into the Zero Hour directory Now you have an universal binary which you can run on Intel Mac's

Downloaded, Worked Brilliant.
Open generals, Copy data to apps, Update generals.
Open Zero Hour, copy Data to apps, Update zero hour ( Which also updates generals )
To run:
Generals can be mounted via os x, But zero hour requires toast, im using toast 9. Mount Either image through toast and then hit the app in your apps folder.
The NO-CD cracks dont seems to work for me, however just mounting the install images worked a treat.

Generals works like a charm for me, however i just can't seem to get Zero Hour to work.
what i've done is:
1. moved generals to apps (it works fine)
2. then i press the Zero Hour .dmg ( it says to move it to the command and counquer map)
3. once i've done that it says that i need to have a DVD inserted.
Could someone please tell me what to do, somewhat step by step.

Zero hour isnt working for me. i extracted the files with pacifist, but all it showed me was a bunch of errors. i tried to mount, but got invalid checksum error. currenty working on reinstalling this game and trying another torrent. any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Hi guys my name is ammar , i downloaded ZH and got it to work it's very easy
1. copy ZH folder to C&C folder
2. download ZH NO-CD Patch from
open the link and wait for seconds to load
3. open it and replace the ZH icon with the one you put in the C&C folder and it should work properly .

I'm also getting the *Invalid Checksum* for the Zero Hour Expansion.
Also when I try the NO DVD Crack 1.0.1 it says insert the DVD inside the game. Not sure why there's an executable in the download for a mac game, but would be great if a solution for the corrupt Zero Hour file and how to get rid of the Insert DVD block once inside the game.

Steps to make it work:
1.Drag the C&CG folder into apps folder and update it to 1.03/1.02. Don't use 1.04
2. Download NoCD torrent mentioned by dexter090
3. Look for the corresponding cracked nocd dmg (1.02 0r 1.03)
4.Replace the original app with the crack.
5. Now install the zero hour folder.
6.download nocd as mentioned by Ammar.june
7.replace original ZH app with cracked one

Some infos:
1) NO NEED TO UPDATE. CC generals is already version 1.7 and ZH version 1.02.
2) On my config (Imac late 2010) no-cd cracks don't work, but fine to mount Generals with OSX and ZH with Toast.
3) Never managed to have any mod/upgrade work, but I don't really care.
So don't bother messing with retro-upgrades and cracks.

I downloaded the torrent files, i have everything. I tried repeatedly installing, mounting, updating to 10.4, every thing in the comments, but Zero hour does not work. Don't know what to do, how to do.
Since there are many ways in the comments, could someone please, once and for all, give us a way to make zero hour work?
I have toast 10, mac 10.6.8 (latest snow leopard). tried burning to a cd zero hour + zero hour data, zero hour data only, and the content of zero hour data only, and nothing worked. tried mounting, but still won't read off a disc or an image.
FOR THOSE WHO READ THIS AND HAVE CHECKSUM: when opening the dmg file, before it shows the contents, when loading the file, clip SKIP and it will bypass the verification, and will still open.

- NEVER UPDATE its all up to very date !
- Never install the Mideast crisis
- look into packages /Applications/Command & Conquer Generals/Command & Conquer Generals.app /contents/info.plist
find & replace: version 1.0 with 1.04
also the string from above 1.0 with 1.04
do the same with ZeroHour
Play at GR
Respect the game vendors, purchase progs legally like i do !
