A brillianf film depicting life post-war, with all the imjustices of "the system" run by the upper classes with an ethos to keep the lower classes in their place and under control.
This is the film that was pivotal in launching the 60's culture/class revolution, with Billy Liar, Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, Cathy Come Home and Up The Junction. See them all-they show what the working classes endured and why we now have a semblance of dignity.
