1) The crack is fairly simple. You just need a macbook that fits the requirements, and a BRAIN
2) Go to skidrows manual crack
3) do what he says with the host file, except do it on your mac. you can find out how to do this easily if you search google ;)
4) run the necessary commands, and just do the mac equivalent of the windows commands
then run the game
5)???
6) PROFIT!
Nah, im joking about 5 and 6 lol, but the fifth step is to play the game. Umm the first thing i can say about the game is that it will give you some hiccups at first, such as a freezeup here and there, so it is reccomended that you not use any applications in the background while playing the game. other than that, it is a well made game. if this doesn't work for you, just use bootcamp and download AC2 + the windows crack and play it there.

*As proof, there is a video on youtube of a guy playing AC2 on his iMac. I have been in correspondence with him about this method, which is also what he used to play AC2 on his mac. However, he was spanish so he couldn't really tell people how to get it. Im english so...i posted it. Later!

Also, there is a bug where the game may crash unexpectedly. however, ac2 usually has autosaved before this has happened most of the time, so i never really lost progress. in not sure what the exact issue is, but i suspect that it is a permissions issue. anyway, ill post the fix as i find out.

Woah, disregard my earlier instruction. I was refering to the FIRST Skidrow crack, not the little things you see popping up now. However, I was playing tonight and the crack has "messed up". My savegames were deleted, and the game crashed. And I was basically kicked out of the system, because when i started the game again, it wanted a live key. I tried the crack over and it didn't work and now I am back to square 1.
I guess this means that a new and more official crack will need to be made. If it is any help, one can base the new crack on Skidrows original offiline server crack (im too lazy to find the link).
The host file on a mac can be edited, and an offline server can be made.

@mac79: how did you install the crack from skidrow in the first place?
The crack for windows uses a modified dll (ubiorbiapi_r2.dll) that you replace with the original. For mac this is a .dylib

you gotta do the cmd commands in terminal, and in mac commands. I'll show you how \/
to run the python file, write the following

to edit the hosts file, open terminal and write: sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
then add the lines in the bottom.
click ctrl+o to save it, then ctrl+x to exit.
on step 16, to browse it, write cd /users/yourname/
and whereever you saved it.

For the average Pirate out there, Skid Row's Crack is just plain complicated. And if you can't get the fucking thing to work within, say, twenty minutes, then what's the fucking point?!? This torrent comes only recommended if your harddrive has too much free space on it...

@thapheon1: I have 2 GB rams. Also it will not lag too much when I set everything in medium setting. Believe me, this game is compatible with Nvidia GeForce 8x or better. So don't worry too much about it.

hallow, you probably quitted terminal without pressing ctrl+c? that will leave some processes running, just open activity monitor an quit them. (sh and bash), then run the server again and quit terminal with ctrl+c when you dont want to play more^.^

@thapheon1: So just set everything in the lowest, with only 256 MB Video card (my MBP) we cannot require much our machine run well. For me it's the problem of synchronizing the voice and the action of the characters. (Voice is always end before the characters end their conversation). :)

I changed the name of my home folder in a proper way.
Runned the server cuz i wanted to play some. then my saved game was gone. and i tried again to do a new game to sequence 1 or something.

Assassin's Creed II has worked great on my iMac late 2008, 2GB with ATI HD 2600.
The only problem I've had is near the end of the game when all the assassins and Lenardo De Vinci are looking at the piece of eden the entire scene freezes and the entire game stops. Any help here? Thanks!

Okay, to the guys who cant save, this is what i did:
1. create a new account on your mac
2. put ac2 and offlineserv.zip in shared folder
3. login to the new account
4. uninstall ac2
5. install ac2
6. run 01_add_hosts
7. run 03_add_server
8. run assasssins creed 2
9. click the gearwheel and press ok
10. play
11. exit game
12. play your saved game

i've mad it to the point (spoiler) where ezio gets the peace of eden and there is this video clip where ezio, his uncle, leonardo and other assassin are standing in front of peace of eden and leonardo says: "fascinating... absolutelly fascinating", than video clip just stops and nothing is happening, you can just hear the sounds, and than i even can't shut down the game, i have to shut down computer to do so. @everyone: To reduce the lag, basically, you must have the strong processor (core +2 duo +2.6GHz) and high video RAM (+512MB). Now i recommend some more things for guys who just only have computers which have low or medium configuration, and laptop (it's maybe riddiculous but it's fine for me! :) )
- Keep you computer as cool as possible (when you run the game, your PC will be very hot, and so, as time pass by, the PC will be slower and slower. So use some methods of cool down)
- For the laptop (in here i say macbook): Keep your fan run as strong as possible. In my macbook pro, first, the game run very lag and slow. But when my fan run stronger, strangely, it run smoother and faster (although it still get some lag but it's acceptable).
*The test here is done on the lowest settings. I recommend to do so!!!

i think i know the solution for that problem when you look at the apple of eden and the video stops. It is the same solution which helped when saves where gone. You just uninstall the game, and install it again. But before that you have to do this: go to the games contents/Resources and than there is this folder called Storage, save it to your desktop, and than there is this file called orbitdll_savegame_log_aGVucmlrYXM= ,save it too. After reinstalling your game, go to contents/resources and you will see that there is no storage folder, folder called SAVES and that "orbit" file. Create SAVES folder (i dont realy know that this is necessary because it's allways empty) and than copy storage folder and "orbit file" to recources folder. Thats it. Video didn't stoped for me after this. Enjoy!

I downloaded this torrent (and the crack) and tried to play the game. I soon found that it is a very good game, but it's one of those games for which it is strongly advisable to use a controller. This Mac version, whether downloaded here or bought in the shops, does not provide controller compatibility. I have long had an Xbox 360 wireless controller for Windows games I used to play, and I also have a PS3 controller for my PS3. I bought and downloaded ControllerMate, a very good app that enables you to configure controllers for use in games on the Mac, but even with this app, controllers won't work on AC2. I have now bought a pre-owned AC2 for the PS3 for £14.99 ($23.98). I strongly recommend that you save time downloading this torrent by getting this game for a different platform that will allow you to play it with a controller. Nevertheless, thank you to Apokarteron for making this torrent available, because I wouldn't have known that the game was worth paying for had I not tried it here first.

Instructions:
Download this and the crack at:
Ok, then run the .DMG in this download. Then run the .PKG (the icon with a box).
Install it. You shouldn't get any problems with that part. Then, when it has installed, DONT OPEN!
Open the crack folder and unzip the crack.app.zip. Then run the Assassins's creed launcher.
That should be it. Any other problems i cant help you with because i didn't get any. just thought i would help a bit seeing as there isn't any instructions :)

Warning! This game runs like shit...even on the lowest settings of 800 x 600 and everything on low to medium. I have a Macbook Pro 17 inch with 2.8 ghz dual core processor, 9600m graphics card (512 mb vram), 4 gigs ram and snow leopard. Pro evo soccer 10 and 11 run good, and this game barely gets going. You need to go into terminal.
and then type in "ps -ax"
it will pull up a list of things running in the background. Locate the files and kill them.

The game works almost perfectly with high framerate on max settings. I've got zero trouble with running the game and starting it up, and I'm fairly into the story line but when i get up to the mission where you have to free the thief's brothers, about 5 minutes in, the mouse stops working altogether. I pause the game and the mouse is frozen. I have tried reconnecting it and quitting and doing it again but the same thing happens at around the same time (chronologically, not gameplay-wise). This is really annoying and I can't get out of doing the mission either because it saved halfway through! Help!

For all who cant save:
Its true that u can login with any account name or password, but u still need to use always the same name and pass, otherwise its like u are using another account.
I was really frustrated because i couldn't save too, but i tried this and now i see the save.
PS: do not change the save game file name from Desmond to another thing, game crashes dont know why.

Problem Plz Help!
I installed the game and the crack, It worked perfectly fine for a few hours. I left the computer for half the day and came back to it. All the sudden the camera movement with the mouse stopped working mid-game. Whenever I restarted the game it would freeze my computer. Then the mouse just stopped working completely when I turned the game on. I know its not a mouse problem, I tried reinstalling everything and nothing seems to work...

I was about to start a mission, and then the screen went white with the little diamond with a ! on it appeared in the middle. I know this is supposed to happen, but afterwards, the whiteness and the ! stayed while the radar, synch squares and other stuff stayed. So basically I could run around, but I couldn't see Ezio, the bad guys, the good guys or the scenery, which meant I had to fight blind judging by the little v's that appear on top of the bad guys' heads. but after that was over I was hoping it would turn back to normal, but it's still like that and I can't play because I have no idea where the buildings and stuff are. PROS:
1: It works.
2: I didn't have to pay for it.
3: It's a great game.
CONS:
1: THE RESOLUTION is SHIT. I can't find out how to change it. Don't take me the wrong way, it's definitely playable, but for what my mac can do, I want more. I like a nice looking game, but I'm not too OCD about so I can live with that.
2: For some reason, I can't get it to run in windowed mode, and I can't alt-tab out of it. So once I start playing, the ONLY way to do something else like change my music or check emails, or w/e is to quit the game, which is incredibly annoying since I like to flick in and out of apps. But hey, I didn't pay for it, so I'm not complaining, it's just a shame.

Downloaded fast and installed just fine for me, but I didn't get this folder everyone's talking about. It just downloaded a .dmg file to my desktop, and I ran it, and the game installed. There're no crack files or anything, anywhere. What am I missing?

Same problem as "Norwayorama" and "profipix" It creates a blocked Ubisoft folder in Applications. I tried all the instructions on the previous 10+ pages and nothing works. Waste of time

Hey! So I downloaded the game without problems. I followed Chrede2750's instructions and the game loaded perfectly.
The only problem is that when the screen says "Press Enter", I press Enter but nothing happens!! I get stuck at the intro screen. Can anyone help me (I had to foce shut my mac)

Dear All,
seems to have a little (ok, big) issue in trying to opening the assassins-...-dmg file, the "4960" error code appears (no image found - ?!?) ....
(I even tried to "open it" with the AC2 cracked launcher, to see what happened but as the game wasn't even install it wasn't usefull...)
I admit i'm new on TPB, i have no clue what to do, and moreover my english is not that good..!! So I tried to understand paadin's msg, but i'm not sure this is the answer to my problem...
If anyone have a suggestion to make, it will be very welcome !!

I finally managed to open the game, everything worked well, thanks a lot for the torrent !!
But still have a big problem, no commands work !! The game doesn't recognize my keyboard !!!
I've read all the comments about this torrent, find out some have had the same problem as me, but no one wrote a solution... I've been in the command menu in the game, try all command and it recognize only my mouse !! I quit and checked all update for my mac and everything ok...

For those having issues with no response from your keyboard.
Goto: System Preferences > Accessibility and make sure you tick off "Enable access for assistive devices".
Game movements now work fine for me.

Downloaded this as normal then tried to run the install package on my 10.6.8 imac and got this message:
'Assassin's Creed 2 is already installed on your system. Please run uninstall script and launch installer again to reinstall the game.'
I haven't installed it and the uninstall script is an empty terminal page. Any suggestions guys?

k something new and ridiculous and unwanted happened...now on 2nd installation...i had hoped id b able to play the game this time around...instead now every time i go to install it it says, under action, upgrade. furthermore, after the installation (or in this case, weirdly, upgrading) the folder in applications shows no files but not 0 in size too o.O ...im confused now...
i generally play on W7 so im not good at installing in mac and this is my 1st game on the mac side...waiting for W7 problem to be fixed...

What you do is open the crack first and just let it run. Then install it and when you get to the register part DO NOT MAKE A NEW ACOUNT. Just make one up in the log in part. It can be anything just make it up and it will let you play the game.

Rahul, I read somewhere that the game won't run on wi-fi. You have to connect to the internet with an ethernet cable to the modem. But, I can't try it out as I don't have an ethernet cable with me. If you try it, please tell me the result. Thanks in advance.

Have the same connection issue with starting story mode on mavericks.
An exception is thrown when launching from "03_run_server.command", from that exception I understand that the server receives a data "00" from the game and expects some sort of answer.
This is happening in UServer2.
Do you have any idea how to fix this?

3. open this file int TextEdit (or similar text editor)
