2. DON'T press "play" or something like that when the autorun pops up. Instead you have to go to "my computer" and rightclick on the True Crime icon and then press "explore" or "open".
3. Press setup.exe and follow instructions.
4. after a while it will ask you to insert disk nr 2.
Press "unmount all drives" and then mount True Crime New York City [CD2].bin in Daemon Tools.
5. after a while it will ask you to insert disk nr 3.
Repeat the progress but insert True Crime New York City [CD3].bin this time.
6. copy the crack from True Crime New York City [CD1].bin (YES, you're gonna have to mount it again) The crack is located in a folder called "crack" (what a coincidence). Paste it in C:\Program Files\Aspyr Media, Inc\True Crime® New York City or something like that.

The reason why its typed "unable to mount image! file not accessable!" is because ur choosing the wrong "[CD1]".. Change the fileformat to: All files, then choose the other [CD1]. :)

this is very frustrating. I have mounted the .bin files and the installation was completed. i copied over the true crime [cd1].bin thing into my installation directory, and i try to play it and it tells me to insert the first true crime disc. i copied all the files into the directory, and it still won't let me play it. i mounted the [cd1].bin, [cd2].bin, and [cd3].bin and it still won't let me play it. Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I installed the game and have gotten it to run just fine (Vista), however I can not edit any of the controls from the initial menu that launches prior to the game's start. Change your daemon tools settings so that it would show all files: click on daemon-choose disc where to mount- it opens a browsing window... find a link where you can choose file type(pressing T opens it) choose "all files" .... and mount the needed stuff:)

For those having some problems here how you do it.
1. Get Daemon Tools Lite
2. Mount the folder, it should say CD1, CD2, CD3
3. Move down to the end and pick, "Select All"
Now you'll be thinking, "Wtf"
4. Mount the FIRST CD1 CD1.bin
5. A menu will pop up, DO NOT CLICK PLAY
6. Exit out of the program
7. Go to 'My Computer' right click on NYC Shield and click on Open, you'll see the folder.
8. Click on Set up and run the program.
9. It'll ask for CD2, repeat what you did to CD1.
10. It'll ask for CD3, repeat as CD1 and CD2 (Notes: You don't have to unmount them; you can keep all three in diffrent drives)
11. You'll need to add the crack, go and mount CD1, then exit the program, go to My Computer and you'll see a folder that said, "Crack".
12. Copy, not cutting. Copy and paste it to Aspyr Media, Inc in the Program Files, replace the .exe with the crack.
13. You must always start the game from the crack.exe
14. Enjoy!

VISTA USERS: The game will function without any issues if you run the game as an administrator (right click game exe and choose "run as administrator".
*note* if you want to avoid pressing "run as administrator" every time you run the game you can simply do this: right click the game exe/desktop shortcut, then choose properties, then click the compability tab and look on the lower part of the popup and mark the "run this program as administrator" -- and then you're done. :)

right click it from my computer
click explore then copy the crack from the folder named crack into the game directory and it should work

For people having trouble mounting:
It's not the cue file you mount, it's the BIN file.
If using magiciso open up the program point to virtual drives --> mount and pick the BIN file disc one, when you need to put in disc two then un-mount one and mount the second and so on.

Internal error 2350. It un-installs what it's already done then closes the installation.

Ok after a LOT of problems I finally found out the solution. MAGICISO does NOT work to mount this game.
When using it I got internal error 2350 on my desktop and the sound file missing error on my laptop. Changing to daemon tools fixed BOTH problems.
Hope this helps someone that's getting either of these error messages.

Ok i\'ve been having a problem installing this on Xp. nnI\'ve tried installing this with Daemon tools..magic ISO (even tho it states it doesn\'t work)...another one called virtual soemhting somehting....and all of them have had and error related to a file not being found...i\'ve now burned them to a few RW DVD rom discs....using imgburn....ok...said the burn was successful...when i got to install..i get the same error.....will someone help me with my problem please....and yes i did follw the VERY EASY rules you have.....just wondering if it\'s soemthing else it is

I've successfully downloaded it, and also successfully installed it. But the problem I face is that the when I click the game, some window opens about the settings of the game, okay, i click OK on that but then the game doesn't start, it gives me the "SEND ERROR REPORT, DON'T SEND" error .. If the game crashes after the intro when you have to press enter, you just need Run it in windows Xp compatibility mode. Just tested on my windows 7, Worked like a charm. Thanks for the upload.

THANK YOU! It works on Windows 7 Home Premium perfectly. Just make sure you follow instructionsn by ZwitterZ and also like Rooo10 pointed out, if you use MagicISO to mount it it will give error so use Daemon Tools.
Also: when you run setup.exe found in CD1.bin make sure you run it with compatibility with Windows Xp SP2 (if you are using Windows 7).

IT DOES WORK. How I did it.
Im using Windows XP home with SP-3.
Burn 3 CD's with ImgBurn 2.5.5.0 (Freeware) Use the .cue files.
After burning all the CD's. Put CD-1 in your CD/DVD drive.
Double click the CD drive. Install the game.
(the installation is slow, so be patient. It took me 10 to 15 min.)
When prompted, put in the next CD.
When finnished, put in CD-1. If it auto-starts, close the menu.
Right click the CD-drive and select "Open"
Double click de "Crack" file, Right click the "true Crime....exe" file and copy it.
Open the C-drive, Goto "Program Files", "Aspyr Media, Inc", "True Crime New York City" and paste the .exe file over the existing one. Select "Yes"to replace.
Goto to the icon on your Desk Top or press Start and select "All Programs", "Aspyr Media, Inc", "True Crime....", "Play True Crime..."
Modify the setting or not and press "OK"
Be aware, this is done on good old XP

Just in case, if you're having problems with the "Can't mount" issue, open the .cue files and rename the name of the file inside the .cue file so it exactly matches the names of the .bin files, and you're good to go.

To crack, you just have to copy/paste the .exe file from the 'crack' folder with the .exe file in your game installination folder. Hope I helped!

I found the solution (Rather simple actually)
Can you see the weird symbol (mine looks like ｮ) after the word 'Crime'?
Rename the installation folder by deleting the ?
and then
Open Registry editor
HKEY Current User>Software>Aspyr>True Crime New York City>Install
right click the 'Path', choose Modify..change the folder name (again by deleting the ?)
Then..Tada!

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO MOUNT WITH DAEMON TOOLS :
1. Open all three .cue files with notepad
2. You should see a name there with ending .bin
3. Change those names exactly like .bin file names in the .cue file folder.
4. save it.
5. Mount it with Daemon Tools.

I cant wield any other weapons then the ones you have in the beginning.
I bought the weapons and then go to the garage,select the car then go to the trunk and equip them,but when I scroll through my weapons only the weapons in the beggining are showing up,nothing else.

For those who are having a hard time installing this on Windows 7 I found a way that worked much better for me.
Download (Obviously)
DO NOT MOUNT, extract all files to a temp folder on your desktop or something.
Right click on Setup.exe and change compatibility to WinXP SP2 and check box to run as administrator, and do the same for all users.
Run setup.exe and let it do it's thing, and once complete, copy crack to directory, right click on shortcut do the same thing you did with Setup.exe
Game will NOT run on most built-in integrated graphics cards.
Road textures issue, it's seems to be an issue with ATI Cards, but seems to NOT be an issue on Nvidia Cards.
I am currently searching for possible fixes for the road textures, and if I find one, I will drop a link here.
