Simply click on a link to rotate it. Matching color links will automatically link up. Note: While black links can link up, they cannot be rotated. * Each complete chain adds to the progress bar to the right of the playfield. * The round ends once the progress bar is completely filled. BONUS LINKS: x2 Bonus Links.: Multiply total chain value by 2. x5 Bonus Links.: Multiply total chain value by 5. Letter Links...: Add letters to spell "CHAINZ" and earn the CHAINZ Bonus. Universal Links: Can link with any other color link. Scoring ------- Normal Links...: 100 points Universal Links: 250 points x2 Bonus Links.: 200 points x5 Bonus Links.: 500 points Letter Links...: 1000 points * Points are awarded based on the number of links in a chain, any bonus links inside of it and the current round. * Increasing bonuses are applied to each successive chain reaction. * CHAINZ Bonus: Collecting all 6 letters and spelling "CHAINZ" earns 25,000 pts. New Game -------- STARTING ROUND: * Selects the round the game will start on. * 1 = Easy. 5 = Medium. 10 = Hard. PLAY MODES: Normal.....: Untimed mode. Time Attack: Timed mode. Fill the progress bar before time expires. Extra time is awarded for each chain completed. 500 points is awarded for each second left at the end of each round. Game ends when time runs out. Note: If a saved game is detected after you choose New Game from the main menu, you will be given the option to continue the game instead of starting a new one. Troubleshooting --------------- This software has been tested extensively to make sure it will operate correctly for all users. If you experience system crashes, error messages or other incorrect behavior, we suggest you first try one of the following: 1) Upgrade your computer's sound card drivers. This can be done by identifying the type of sound card your computer is using and finding the manufacturer's web site. Or, most drivers will be automatically updated if you follow step #2. 2) Upgrade DirectX. This is a Microsoft component and it includes special drivers for video cards and sound cards for virtually every manufacturer. It is therefore a very large download, but updating DirectX solves nearly all system problems encountered with GameHouse games.
