Feldman draws on a wide variety of material, from Philo, Josephus, and other Graeco-Jewish writers through the Apocrypha, the Pseudepigrapha, the Church Councils, Church Fathers and imperial decrees to Talmudic and Midrashic writings and inscriptions and papyri.
