Dell oem windows xp media center sp3 This is a dell xp media center iso slipstreamed with sp3. It can be used to install windows on dell machines with the oem sticker and activate without problems. You can also use it to run repair installs on them without loosing all updates prior to sp3. Its 2 gigs because of all the dell oem programs it installs after the initial install, so this image requires a dvd. Can I install this on a non-Dell machine? Can I opt out of Dell's oem programs?

you can install it on a non dell, if you have an oem key on a sticker. when you first boot it and try to activate it will say invalid key, but then just type in the one from your oem sticker and it will work. there is no way to opt out of the dell programs, but it is just a program that boots on first startup, so you could go taskmanager and kill it. Duno if it would work or mess anything up tho.

usually you would want to boot from them, but loading em while windows is running should work also. booting from them is better tho

WORKS opened with demon tools but on dvd with nero 6 put it in booted it put my coa key in from my dell laptop. THANKS Overflow636

I just tried to install this on to a totally clean Dell system, no IE, no MCE. As mentioned in that thread, slipstreaming isn't supported. That's a dvd into the bin.
