Just a wee update - the game works. However, you need the actual DVD in to run it. I tried making a copy of it (burning the image in this torrent) and it still asked for the DVD.
I'll keeping seeding this anyway, and I'm sure some guru's out there will help us out.

I'm looking into why the game doesn't recognise the DVD image when burned to an actual DVD. I loaded the DVD up in Windows to see if there was any hidden files (since the Mac version is the Windows version in a Cider wrap) but couldn't see anything.
I uploaded this in hope that someone out there would be able to do some magic.

You NEED to burn a copy of the DVD in order to run the game. It is a Cider wrap, therefore having the disk image mounted will not work.
NOTE: This game will NOT work on Mac's that don't have dedicated graphics. Intel integrated graphics (found on Mac Mini, MacBook, bottom range iMac) will not be able to run this game. It also requires an Intel Mac, it is not Universal Binary so won't work on PPC Mac's.

SenfNo - I have already tried using the Windows no cd patch but it fails to run.
Right-click on the Tiger Woods app and go to Show Package Contents. Then Contents --> Resources then same as before on the Tiger Woods app. Contents --> Resources --> Transgaming --> c_drive --> Program Files etc and then in the .bin folder there is the TW2008.exe.
Replacing that with the Windows no-cd crack doesn't work.
What work arounds are you referring to?

1. in finder rename or remove "EA SPORTS" folder in
/Applications/Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.app/Contents/Resources/Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Files
2. in finder copy this folder from win no cd patch game, e.g. from boot camp volume
/Volumes/NO NAME/Program Files/EA SPORTS
or another else win volume
and play game

Download the fix (link below) and follow instructions in the zip file. You will need to change the Display settings before you play any golf.

Eureka!!!!
I was able to make a No_DVD [k] for Tiger Woods 2008...The key to the crack was the DXwrap.dll. I was able to use ToeD TiWo.exe to make a new DXwrap and it worked like a charm on a iMac 2.8 24"...

also kilamite could you up your TW2008 and DXWrap.dll file from transgaming/c_drive/program files/bin or just see if they are the same size or different... from a fresh install the TW2008 is 9,129,984 bytes and the DXWrap.dll is 327,736 bytes. I wonder if hexeditor could find the differences in them?

As for my TW2008.exe and DXWrap.dll - they are exactly the same as everyone else will have. The image I made was from the DVD, and I done this using Disk Utility.
The only problem is that on the actual DVD I have of the game, there is something on it that lets the game know it is the real DVD. I'm baffled as to what it is. Once that is sorted, then everyone will be able to play the game properly (even if it means burning a DVD of the game).

I confirmed that the crack from rapidshare.c*m/files/79989533/mm.zip along with the image from kilamite does work on my hack. Here is what I did.
I applied thepatch as instructed in the instructions and yes it DID NOT work. I received the same error that my Graphics card is not supported. I then went to Apple's site and downloaded and applied the update for TW08, again I received the same graphics is unsupported error. I then copied the dxwrap.dll file from the original image from kilamite to the installed game location, AGAIN this did not work. I then re-copied the dxwrap.dll file from this crack and low and behold it worked. I really don't know why this procedure worked, but it did

I found a way to enable other screen resolutions!
First back up DXWrap.dll. Open DXWrap.dll from the bin folder of your game installation in a hex editor, search for this: (the actually changed parts are "market", the rest is just to make sure you've got the right area)
02 "00 05" 00 00 C7 00 "00 04" 00 00 C3 8B 4C 24 08 8B
and overwrite it with this:
02 "90 06" 00 00 C7 00 "1A 04" 00 00 C3 8B 4C 24 08 8B
This will change 1280x1024 to 1680x1050.
Other resolutions:
1920 x 1200 is: "80 07" and "B0 04"
1440 x 900 is: "A0 05" and "84 03"
For me it works fine in the game himself (iMac with 1440x900), only the MainMenu is still 1024 x 786.

I do have a mac book pro 15''. Your solution do not work with my apple. But i think this the way to follow: I think you have an access to 1280.1024 in the ingame video option menu. I do not, only 1024.768. And i would to try to change the match of this resolution instead of changing the 1280.1024 res as you did. Every works fine, the game is nice...but at 1024.768 when you should reach 1680.1050.....
Can you help me ? If you can, just tell me the line to edit in hex and i will try.

currently, for the last two weels i have played with this, all the info I found says that the macbook will not run...since I do not have one, I cannot check the error logs to see what it happending...to find the, it is in the transgaming/c_drive/program files/bin call errlog...if someone would take the time to look at it and it will tell you what .dll it is failing...and report, I think this might help...

It seems that we are all having this similar problem:
- I mounted the tigerwoods img file, dragged the program to my apps folder to install.
- I then updated the application with the apple tiger woods update which was successful
- Then I used the NODVD crack
- Booted application, entered valid serial number which was successful
- Program seemed to be booting up fine until this message comes up: "The game does not officially support this video card. You may experience graphical anomalies or performance problems while running the program"
- I have tried playing it on every resolution and this message still occurs and the game quits. I have reinstalled it many times and still the same error is present
- I am using a brand new 15' macbookpro so I am not sure what the problem is. Seems that more people can get it to run on iMacs.
- Someone please try to figure out a solution as will I, so we can all play! lol thanks

Here's the solution I used to get Tiger Woods 08 running on my MacBook Pro 15":
1) Download the game via this torrent.
2) Download the official patch (the EA link to it is intermittent and you may have to refresh a million times to get it, there's also a torrent for it here)
3) Download the crack
4) Install the game
5) Patch it using the official patch
6) With a hex editor, open the DXWrap.dll file in the crack, edit line "02 00 05 00 00 C7 00 00 04 00 00 C3 8B 4C 24 08 8B" to "02 A0 05 00 00 C7 00 84 84 00 00 C3 8B 4C 24 08 8B" ... without the quotations marks (" ") of course.
7) Follow the instructions to patching the game (copying the crack files into the app)
8) Play.
... personal note: this game is pretty piss poor - the PSP tiger woods 06 I played is the only other Tiger Woods game I've ever played and it had better graphics, performance, effects, interface, and overall gameplay.

Right I am really new to Mac, having just moved from Windows, but I got this working after lots of messing about and reading up.
I found some stuff on here by Philemaster:
1. Download game from this torrent.
2. Download the no_DVD crack ->
3. Download the patch from apple web->
4. Install game, ie copy of the game to apps or wherever
5. Execute the Apple patch you downloaded from Apple
6. Now the tricky bit, you need to apply the no DVD crack
Where you dumped the installation, right-click or CMD+click ( is it? ), anyway get the option "Show Package contents"
./Contents/Resources/
Right-click ( CMD+click) on "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08" and show package contents again
Now ready, find the file TW2008.exe
Files/EA Sports/Tiger Woods/PGA Tour 08/bin
Now replace both files DXWrap.dll and TW2008.exe from the NODVD patch you downloaded.
Then run it.
You MUST change the resolution immediately or it will crash if you try to play it. When you set the resolution it will appear to crash, it hasn't it simply sets it and exits very ungracefully! Simply restart and play. The menus are in 1024x768, but the game will run by default in max 1600x1200. I believe you can HEX edit DXWrap.dll to botch it to play higher res, ie the full 1900x1200 OSX res.
I am very new to Mac after dwellig in the Windows darkness for over 15 years, so this might be a bit of a mess but hopefully it will get you a bit nearer playing it. I got it working, I am now trying to patch the original DMG. You can apply the Apple patch to the DMG directly, but I need a DMG editor to drop in the two NODVD crack files.
