I got mine to work by applying the 1.2 no cd crack and double click battlefront.exe in the game data folder where I installed. double clicking the desktop icon does not seem to work.

1. Download, mount on Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% or extract it with WinRar or WinZip, install.
2. Download "Crack for Version 1.2 ENG"(3d in row below "Star Wars: Battlefront No CD Cracks"). Because this game automatically installs 1.2 patch, that is why you were wondering why game wont work, because you used 1.0 crack.
3. Extract, or copy-paste crack into game directory *EXAMPLE* - C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars BattlefrontGameData
4. Left click on "Battlefront.exe", send it to desktop and start it.
Game works.

This download is BF version 1.2.
I did what Citzen92 said and it worked thank u Citzen:
1) mount the ISO in Daemon tools
2)went to that site Citzen mentiond and dl'd v1.0 & 1.2 crack
3)Install v1.0 crack by replacing the LaunchBF.exe in the main BF folder
4)Install v.1.2 crack which by replacing battlefront.exe in BF/GameData folder.
I tried JUST the v1.2 crack and got the buffer underrun error...but then replacing the LaunchBF.exe in the BF folder with the one from the V1.0 crack somehow fixed the problem.

FOR EVERYBODY WHOS HAS THE: CRASH TO DESKTOP PROBLEM!!!
I literally tried everything before from plugging in a headphone to running it on 1 core, nothing seemed to work but after a long time i found the solution.
go to your control panel then click hardware and sounds then under the sound panel click on audiodevices. click on the record tab then right click in the blank area and click on show disabled devices. a stero-mix icon will appear. enable it and VOILA!!! no messing around with cores or playing without sound.
