Description:

Shadowman - Ghost In The Mirror: Shadowman strikes back with their 3rd album and it’s been four years since they released their debut album Land Of The Living and in 2006 Different Angles. Both albums were Ok in my opinion with a couple of tracks that stood out but they never made all the way. On their 3rd album Ghost In The Mirror they have really improved in many ways. The songs sounds better and bigger with great hooklines and Steve Morris (Heartland) delivers great riffs that he haven’t done for years and the production is better and powerful. Steve Overland (FM, The Ladder) sings brilliant as always and this time around the songs suits his voice even more. Rest of the band is Chris Childs (Thunder) bass, Harry James (Thunder) drums and Steve Millington (Sad Café) keyboards. I have to admit that in places this sounds a lot like FM a'la Aphrodisiac, Dead Man’s Shoes and mixed with Thunder and Heartland then you got Ghost In The Mirror. Fire And Ice is a fantastic AOR-song that brings back memories to FM's Tough It Out album. Yes, this is a stunning AOR-song with fantastic melodies and big background vocals in the chorus. Another winner is Bad For You with a strong chorus. It’s Electric is a nice rocker with a great riffs and keyboards in the background. I think that when they get more blues into the songs the quality sinks and songs like Blues City and Outlaws are just average.
