Description:
This is to replace the voice "Alex" missing from various OS X86 install discs. I can't stand the old mechanical sounding voices included on these install discs so I got the much better new voice that the Leopard Retail DVDs come with from my other Macs.
After you download and extract the ".zip" file all you need to do is place this in "/System/Library/Speech/Voices" and when you go to System Preferences > Speech you should see the option for this voice under the "Text to Speech" tab.

Cool... I actually have the retail disk, but used Kalyway to install, so didn't know why I couldn't find that nifty new voice Jobs showed off last year. I just used Pacifist to install the voice and it sure is an improvement. I might actually use Text-to-Speech now that this is the default voice. ;-)Thanks for upping this and getting me to dig it off my DVD!
