Troyboy1969, I'm just starting out myself but I'll pass on to you here what I do.
Using UTorrent 1.8.1, choose File / Create New Torrent. Select the file or the directory you want to include in the torrent file, then click Create and save as. You should see a progress bar at the bottom of the window as the torrent file is being created. You will then be asked where you want to save your new torrent file on YOUR computer. I've created a dedicated directory for these newly created torrent files. These torrent files DO NOT have to be saved with the content file.
For a tracker, I'm usig this one from Pirate Bay available here on the website. UTorrent fills the tracker field for each newly created torrent so you don't have to do a copy/paste every time.

Once you've created the torrent file, register here at Pirate Bay and choose the Upload torrent link at the bottom of the PB pages. Follow the directions and wham! you're a torrent uploader at PB.
I found that the content file I created the torrent for is already listed as completed in my uTorrent listing but I go through the "Download This Torrent" procedure here at PB to add any additional tracker available from PB.
Like I wrote above, I'm new at this so I'm kind of just plodding along at this point. Hope this helps.

Yeah, 3.47 GB is pretty big for just a movie file. I have noticed some HD movies are GB in size but not regulars one like I'm uploading.
I've never used an AV video converter. Is it software or hardware (see, that's how dumb I am about it. heh.) Give me some details and if it's s/w, I'll try to download it (only if it's free) and see what my experience is with it. I'll let you know what I find out.
Oh yeah, congratulations on your first upload, you da man!
