Oceana Company - 2008 - For The Boatman

myspace.com/oceanacompany Oceana Company operates from Zwolle, The Netherlands. They have backgrounds in bands like Stone In Egypt, Elephantum and The Black Atlantic. Their aim is to look for new angles. Instead of focusing on the psychedelic stonerrock of their previous bands, they created more space for dynamics, melody and melancholy. The unique use of a real mellotron adds a more symphonic character to the sound. In 2005 and 2006 the band worked together with producer Marcel v/d Vondervoort (Astrosoniq, Julian Sas, Zeus) on the full-length album “For The Boatman”, which shall be released in October 2008 through Space Jam Records. In the meantime Oceana Company is getting very positive media attention ("Demo Of The Month" in FRET and nr. 1 on the Indie Chart) and also had the chance to show what she’s worth on stage. Through her many gigs with Epica, Astrosoniq, Dozer, Los Natas, Taxi To The Ocean, Lawn, My Sleeping Karma among others, they have build a good reputation amongst a diverse audience.
