With an emphasis on the more experimental corners of dance, Ricochet Records began life at the start of 2008 to offer an alternative take on London’s tech-breakbeat sound. Label boss Lifecycle began producing electro whilst exploring the UK’s rave scene during the 90s, and the Ricochet sound combines this energy with a deep, progressive blend of various strains of electro. The first five releases on Ricochet have included contributions and remixes from Si Begg, Chris Carter, ILS, Ion Driver, Luke Chable, Decoder and Flack.su... Lifecycle’s sets offer a dark, introspective view on post-rave electronica, built around tribal grooves, melodic subbass and a hybrid of breakbeats and psychedelic techno.
