The Vapors - Turning Japanese

The song's lyrics mainly consist of the singer talking about the picture of his love. The Vapors were a new wave and power pop band from England, that existed between 1979 and 1981. They had a hit with the song "Turning Japanese" in 1980, which reached #3 in the UK Singles Chart, and #36 in the corresponding U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band knew they had a hit with "Turning Japanese", so much so that they waited until their second single before releasing it, fearing that if they released it as their first they would become one-hit wonders. In fact, the delay didn't help much, and they never managed to match its success before or since. Japanese people have been known to take exception to the song, with one Asian-American group named Orient Express creating a parody entitled "Turning Hakujin" (Japanese for a white person). - however, this again has been largely orchestrated by those seeing media attention for their own projects - the song enjoyed some sales in the Japanese charts on the back of its huge success in Australia, where it spent two weeks at Number One in June 1980. You just made my day 2nafish :D This is one of my all time favorate songs from the 80's, yet it's been impossible to find as a promo video with any kind of quality at all, let alone in sync, so thanks again for the upload and Happy Holidays :)
