do you make these by converting mkv's? if so what program do you use to convert?-thanks
brickop (2009-02-17)
i do convert some MKV's. but this movie was riped from a blu-ray disk. but either way i have had the best luck using RipBot X264 it's a free download. Handbreak is also good for MKV's, it's alittle quicker than the RipBot.teabag87 (2009-02-17)
thanks alot. I've tried gotsent and mkv2vob but they don't compress to be less then 4gb, they just split, which sucks. I've been using xilisoft but it will only do ps3 videos in 2 channel stereo, which also sucks. I'll try those out, thanks againSunseeker908 (2009-02-20)
If you're using gotsent then run TVersity on your PC, stream it to your ps3 and don't worry about the file size.brickop (2009-02-20)
I would say to download the ps3 media server found here on tpb it seems to work better than tversity and it can stream almost anythingteabag87 (2009-02-20)
nah I have a 1.5 terabyte external I put all these on, which plugs right into my ps3 real nicebrickop, using handbrake, what audio option do you usually chose to get a 5.1 track. Both dolby surround and dolby prologic are giving me 2.0 sound
brickop (2009-02-20)
Teabag87, You go to audio&subtitles, select a audio source don't use automatic, then go to Mixdown column and select 6 channel discrete. I believe the audio bit rate has to be at least 256kb to work.teabag87 (2009-02-21)
thanks again, i'll try that outsorry that im "that annoying guy who won't stop with the damn questions" ha
I've tried the 6 channel discrete before, but it did it in linear pcm for some reason, and a ps3 wont support a linear pcm 5.1 track if its hooked up through an optical sound wire, it only will if the ps3's sound is transferred through hdmi. I guess my problem is the bitrate, I'll give it a whirl

teabag u might really want to go with the ripbot264.Don't worry about the questions i'm a newbie to.teabag87 (2009-02-21)
i tried ripbot, downloaded the 3 programs you need for it to run, and it says it cant render a mkv file.On another note, Reading comments on other guys ps3 movie torrents, apparently other people are having problems with no sound. Its weird cause I downloaded stuff of of Pristine's ps3 video torrents before with no problem. Now his videos, your videos, and my own videos in AAC 5.1 have no sound. And im not the only guy. Weird part is, if you fast forward 1.5 speed, theres sound
teabag87 (2009-02-22)
after alot of BS i found out why some people have problems getting sound on your ps3 conversions and other ps3 conversions that use 6 channel audio. People that have their ps3 hooked up to a 5.1 receiver via optical wire will not get sound. This is because no audio receiver can play the 6 channel discrete signal, at least when using optical wire. Theres a chance you can with HDMI, but im not sure. But there is hope. If the people with a 5.1 system go to their ps3 sound settings, and de-select AAC from their options, the ps3 will send it to the receiver in 2 channels, and any decent receiver can put that into a 5.1 signal via pro-logic II
hope this helps anyone
