Der Waffen SS trained by Professional soldiers like Paul Hassuer but led by ex nco's like Sepp Dietrich. No matter what the fact is the SS were not a very effective force high losses with little gain. I'm born and bred German native and done my service with today's modern German army for 7 years. I like most of my country men and women all have relatives that were in the Wehrmacht and the SS during the war. I can tell you this most of my SS uncles and such were shunned by the rest of the family as they kept their nazi beliefs. But a few were not only ashamed but were not even nazi's. I know our country has a black stain that will never go away but we for the most part are anti nazi. Too bad some in the UK and US have taken up the cause and became wannabes.

@Zipgun: the highest quantity of Neo-Nazis are actually in Russia not the West, and quite ironically since the SS Einsatzgruppen were slaughtering Russians in droves per Nazi policy of clearing the "Ostland" of "Untermenschen". How quickly people forget!
