This is the beta version. The correct version of the game still has not been released due to some screwup between the company and Steam.
The beta version ended up on Steam instead of retail, so it was "cracked" again and uploaded.
Wait for a verified correct retail version release.

Instals and update (alexisthebest links, thx) with no probs, still game is extremely confusing, runs in window only (at least i did not find way to run in full screen, alt+enter and alt+tab crashes the game), no single player campain and no tutorials, look's like it is for HC funs only. Hmmm. I know they do have listed other known issues they are working on. What's the one you're getting? In the forums, a lot were having issues solved by reinstalling C++2010 and VB4 (in the SOTS main install folder)

And the error I'm getting is one from the torrent I think, about it not being connected to steam and unable to get the achievement. I don't think it's one of this games many bugs :P. It's the same error as saginatio

I installed the game and the 2 updates, but when i go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Paradox Interactive\Sword of the Stars II Lords of Winter\bin\x64\sots2.exe and press play, the game-screen goes white and closes, tried with both x64 and 86, connected and disconnected from steam

I've found what's causing our errors:) It's enought to log off and shut down steam client. Apparently the game can cope with lack of steam but cannot cope with him being unresponsive.

guys, I warn you all, this game needs high graphic cards. it's stupid because for this type of gameplay you don't need too much high graphics. but if you zoom in on the battle, it's worth it... but alas, Sins Of Solar Empire balanced between good graphics and smooth battle, Sword Of The Stars ridiculously have too much graphic detail that makes the game laggy. it's not about shitty computer, but about comparing 2 games with the same perspective. if you have any other opinion, go ahead, speak up.
