West Wing seasons 1-4 - Ripped to MP3s

I?ve gotten fairly sick and tired of music, so I?ve been using the IMToo MP3 ripper to take the audio from favorite movies and TV shows to listen to on my MP3 Player. I?ve used smaller bit rates for the sake of file size and downloading convenience, but this isn?t high opera, so who cares? It will take a while to get the rest of the series ripped and presented here. After this, I figure I?ll move on to MASH, SPORTS NIGHT, FRIENDS, and TITUS. I?ve tried this with stuff like BUFFY and STAR TREK, but have you ever noticed how much of those shows is taken up with sound effects and fight scenes? From a purely Audio aspect, they are pretty dull. I am on a seasonal hiatus from work right now, so I am taking requests. As soon as I finish downloading the complete NORTHERN EXPOSURE, I?ll start on those.

Interesting concept.
I usually do this for stand-up performances, the audio's 90+% of the show. The programs I use to acomplish the ripping/conversion to mp3 are AoA Audio Extractor (freeware) and Media Coder / Media Coder Audio Edition (open source).
I tried IMToo but... well... didn't like it all that much. Media Coder uses LAME.

Thanks. It sounds like a good way to listen to the earlier seasons. You're right, Star Trek doesn't translate well to audio.
