Judging from the IMDB rating, 6.9 out of 10 with 662 votes, it should be a good one that is enjoyable to folks on both sides of the pond. A young Englishman marries a glamorous American. When he brings her home to meet the parents, she arrives like a blast from the future - blowing their entrenched British stuffiness out the window. This ‘period piece’ set in the (roaring) 1920’s is a very intriguing and entertaining hour and a half. The acting, as could be expected from such a cast, is uniformly excellent with outstanding perforamces from Jessica Biel and Kristin Scott Thomas. That clash of culture, set in a time of almost identical financial boom and bust, is at the heart of Stephan Elliott's excellent adaptation. "Easy Virtue" is all the things a Noël Coward film should be - it's smart, sexy, funny, engaging, shrewd, witty and wonderful. Video sample file included ………………………………
