XIII (Thirteen)
XIII is a cel-shaded first-person shooter based on a long-running French comic
book of the same name. The game definitely plays up its comic book roots,
complete with readable sound effects and comic-book-like panels that pop up
while you're playing. While it definitely has a certain sense of style to it,
the game itself misses its mark, and the total package isn't one that will hold
the interest of most first-person shooter players.
XIII, or "Thirteen," is both the name of the game and the name of the character
you'll play as, though there's definitely some question about your character's
identity. The game opens with you waking up with a gunshot wound after washing
up on a beach, unable to remember anything at all. As you proceed through the
game, you'll begin to piece together your past, which is an interesting one, to
say the least. As it happens, you have the face of a man accused of
assassinating the president with a sniper rifle. But are you, in fact, that
man? Or are you an agent given a new face in an attempt to get to the bottom
of the assassination conspiracy? The game attempts to answer these questions
with prerendered and in-engine cutscenes, as well as slightly interactive
flashbacks that occasionally burst out in the middle of a level. While none of
these devices are particularly effective storytellers, the story has enough to
it that you'll at least be interested in seeing it through, even in the face of
XIII's rather rudimentary gameplay.

C'mon good people, let's keep up the seeding please. :)sixteenvolts (2009-03-26)
Thanks for the post, but I have a problem. On the level where you meet Agent Jones, she gives you the hookshot. She then turns around to face the building, says "I'll go first...", then.... nothing. She just stands there. (This sorta reminds me of the elevator glitch on HL2 Ahu No-Steam pack).
Any suggestions?

zxkb4s29 (2010-03-01)
works but that "freeman g ripper" guy is not very talented, to say at least. nothing is ripped, even advert trailers of other video games are left in. nothing is recompressed, no cropped intro videos.Amin47 (2010-05-14)
I am downloading it and the speed was extremely slow!!! C'mon SEED!! I guess no one is even downloading this right now except me!!termite43 (2010-10-04)
WARNING - READ THIS BEFORE DOWNLOADING !!!If you install this game, something irreversible will happen to your computer. If you're smart, you install alll your software on a different drive and you also save system images on a usb drive in case you need to revert back to them, RIGHT? Because I do this, my C-Drive image is only about 40GB - all the software I have is installed on a different drive, not in program files, but all the program settings are still on C and get backed up when the system image is created. I installed this game and a couple others by Freeman Ripper and I went to create a system image and instead of being to choose ONLY my C-Drive, my O-Drive (software) was greyed out and said 'System' - just like the C-Drive. So my backup system image size went from 40GB to over 600GB because something in these rips binds the install drive to the system drive. I don't like that - not at all. ALL of the other software I have installed does not do this. I would assume if you did an install and a no-dvd patch for this same game, it wouldn't bind its install drive to the System drive. Is this a rootkit? Does it, say, give your system permission for someone else to access the contents of both drives? Who knows. I'm throwing this one away - I like being in control.
