Jim Dempsey (Michael Brandon) was one of New York's finest, a tough, street-wise cop - a man who couldn't be bought. When a corruption scandal hit the force Dempsey was left out on a limb. That's how he found himself in England, waiting for things to cool down and clashing with the beautiful Harriet Makepeace (Glynis Barber), Cambridge graduate daughter of an English Lord and chasing a high-flying career at Scotland Yard. Holding them together is their boss, Gordon Spikings (Ray Smith), irascible head of SI-10 and not a man to be trifled with. Dempsey and Makepeace may seem an unlikely duo but together they are dynamite!
