Please help for I am stupid. How do I get this going with winzip? I read the read me and winzip will not let me extract some of the files.

I have no idea if you'll be seeing this ever but here goes: Stop using worthless software. Winzip is about as good as rotten shit. It can almost only open .zip files. Use some other software. Winrar works for me and lets you open just about anything. I know there's more software that can do this but can't remember the names of them.

I'm also having problems selecting a pre-designed templage for the Overland Maps. You can't actually select one. Clicking, Tab + Enter, etc, nothing works. You just have to start from scratch in making overland maps.

SOLUTIONS
1. Cannot select a pre-defined template
This is a known problem and there is no current workaround to allow you to select pre-defined templates from the Open menu. However, you can locate the pre-defined template (FCT file) you want to use (in the /CC3/Templates/ folder), then copy it to some other location. MAKE SURE to make a copy...don't move it. Once you've made your copy, change the extension from FCT to FCW. You can rename the file at the same time as well. This is what the Open dialog does, except us Vista guys get to do it manually!
2. Error when opening CC3 Help (Help, Quickstart Guide, and Tech Support)
You might see the following errors when opening up CC3 help files (Help, Quickstart Guide and Tech Support links under CC3's Help menu).
"Internet Explorer cannot download / from Windows. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."
You might not see the above errors, but the help window will say something about the help file is an unsupported version (if someone has the exact text, let me know).
The first half of this problem (if you see the download error) is not CC3 related (Help will also fail in IE7...try it). It is a problem with how XML, which underlies the new help system, is associated in Vista. You can read more on about the problem and the fix on Kristan Kenney's Blog. You'll need to run this registry patch, which will fix the association and allow Help to open...sort of. (I have attached the zip file to this thread in case the link goes down - Fix_Help_and_Support.zip)
That problem is fixed, but now you'll find out CC3 help STILL won't open (if your association above wasn't broken, then you'll be starting here). Its because CC3 uses the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) which is no longer included in Vista! According to some Microsoft Knowledgebase article,
"Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) is a Help program that has been included with Microsoft Windows versions starting with the Microsoft Windows 3.1 operating system. WinHlp32.exe is required in order to display 32-bit help content files that have the ".hlp" file name extension.
However, the Windows Help program has not had a major update for many releases and no longer meets Microsoft standards. Therefore, starting with the Windows Vista operating system release, the Windows Help program will not ship as a component of the Windows operating system. Also, third-party programs that include .hlp files are prohibited from redistributing the Windows Help program together with their products."
You can, however, download and install Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) for Vista from Microsoft. Once you've done that, CC3 Help files (and others that use the older system) will work fine.

Hmmm. But i think i know what you did wrong.
The torrent of CC3 on piratebay requires you to do these steps.
Unpack to C:\Program Files\ProFantasy\
Program folder should point C:\Program Files\ProFantasy\CC3
Read Read-me.txt
Apply cc3 reg.reg patch
run program C:\Program Files\ProFantasy\CC3\fcw32.exe
I think you didn't do them correctly you have to do them exactly so that cause you apply cc3 reg.reg patch you registrer the progam on your computer and only than the patch 7 from this torrent can find where the app/game is installed.

Hello, I just downloaded this, Extracted the files from WinRaR into a new file called Campaign Cartographer 3. Ran the CC3Reg patch thing or whatever it said to do first and then tried to open the Fwc2.exe something file and it didn't work. I don't know what program to open it with or if it's because I have windows and this may be a mac download but it won't work so. Please someone help me I NEED this to work! :D

Just a note, installed it on windows 7 worked flawlessly. You have to follow the steps in the Install text file.
I tried running it without following the steps and go the black screen error outlawspirit was talking about.
All you do is go to C:Program Files and make a "ProFantasy" folder. then drag and drop the CC3 folder (keep in mind there is a CC3 folder inside the CC3 folder when you download this bad torrent uploader) into ProFantasy folder. note you want the one thats inside the original CC3 folder.
Once you have this you should have this file path (C:Program FilesProFantasyCC3fcw32) NOT (C:Program FilesProFantasyCC3CC3fcw32) Dont run yet.
Install the cc3reg file and when thats complete feel free to run the program. that did it for me hope this helps.

I have windows 8 64bit. Its weird but I can use it somewhat. Lots of glitches.
When the opening map loads up, put any symbol on the map. make sure you have something on the current map in the window. Then you can try and start a New Map. That seemed to work for me with 7 and 8.
7 is much less glitchy, but 8 has issues where the menu lists (buttons) disappear. Some of the options do not function correctly either.
Just an FYI peeps. It is the program with the issues as far as I can tell as of now, not the torrent. Lots of people having issues with new O/S's.
