Description:
Rebecca (1940) The Criterion Collection, (Out of Print)
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Rebecca is a 1940 psychological dramatic thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock as his first American project, and his first film produced under his contract with David O. Selznick. The film's screenplay was an adaptation by Joan Harrison and Robert E. Sherwood from Philip MacDonald and Michael Hogan's adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's 1938 novel of the same name, and was produced by Selznick. It stars Laurence Olivier as the aristocratic widower Maxim de Winter, Joan Fontaine as his second wife, and Judith Anderson as the housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers.
The film is a gothic tale about the lingering memory of the title character, Maxim de Winter's dead first wife, which continues to haunt Maxim, his new bride, and Mrs. Danvers. The film won two Academy Awards, including Best Picture out of a total 11 nominations. Olivier, Fontaine and Anderson were all Oscar nominated for their respective roles. Since the introduction of awards for actors in supporting roles, this is the only film named Best Picture that won no other Academy Award for acting, directing or writing.
It was the opening film at the 1st Berlin International Film Festival.

When using TPB please read these important notes:
01- Anti-malware apps may warn about keygens, patches, cracks, etc., because of
their capabilities, (generating codes, etc.). Sometimes they're added to
the virus/spyware database and will be detected as malware. If you don't trust
the keygens, patches, cracks, etc., don't use them.
02- Before running .exe-files, keygens, patches, cracks, etc., always check first
if they can be unpacked. Often some third party added a virus to the
original file, repacked it and uploaded it again.
03- Letting anti-malware apps send scan results to their companies can cause
keygens, patches, cracks, etc., to be added to their virus-database.
04- Firewalls which are set to automatically determine connections will allow
apps & malware!. Avoid this by manually configuring your firewall.
05- Usually (new) torrents with many downloads and seeders in a brief period is
suspicious! Torrents with the Skull & Crossbones icon are trusted.
06- Some people use multiple accounts and post fake comments
and/or files trying to spread confusion. They seldom seriously
comment or have any torrents, or a just a few to look passable.
07- Clicking on unknown links can cause malware to be installed on your machine.
08- In general often there are more fake and negative comments than reliable and
positive comments.
09- In some countries uploading/downloading copyright protected material is
forbidden, but showing some appreciation to reliable up-loaders is not.
10- Posting fake and negative comments or fake/infected uploads on TPB can result
in getting banned from TPB!

This goes to show you should always pay attention to the tech data (if provided). Thanks bigdade for supplying such detailed data - I only wish I'd read it all. This is one of the few Hitchcock films I haven't seen yet, and was disappointed to discover that, though download was very fast, this encode is not in the correct aspect ratio. As big_dad_e admits above, this was encoded at 720x480, with "display aspect ratio" at 4:3. Yes, 4:3 is proper for any film of that era, but 720x480 is NOT 4:3; proper resolution would be 640x480 - the width is 80 pixels wider than proper ratio and thereby distorts the playback images plus it makes the overall file size larger than necessary. If you have VLC player or comparable you can correct for this during playback; if not you're stuck with a distorted picture. VLC is unavailable to me right now as I need to upgrade - can't afford to right now. A shame on such a classic film. I'm just trying to figure out why someone would go to so much trouble to rip and encode a classic film with an incorrect ratio. I'll have to download a different version now.BigDadE (2014-09-21)
spunky3,you sound like a whiny bitch, go fucking buy it you ungrateful complainer. i saw your contribution: comments and 1 unseeded crappy torrent. wow thanks for all the booty you put on the table for the rest of us. because standard definition digital video was originally based on digitally sampling analog television, the 720 horizontal pixels actually capture a slightly wider image to avoid loss of the original analog picture. btw, this tt is over 4 years old.
