OMG - Vivabeat - Man from China! I'm whistling away here. I had that on vinyl and loved it, one of many discs stolen from me when I was a club DJ. No, I amn not accusing you of stealing it from me, just that someone did and I'm pleased to find the track in this mix.Another from the early 80's that I cannot find anywhere was by Reggie & the Orchies and was a version of Take Five, the old Dave Brubeck instrumental - I don't suppose...?
Thanks again for this wonderful series.

Hey 80zforever...quick question about Martin Human - Upside Down and Backward -- do you actually own this 12" (or 45)? Was there a b-side to it? Cool track, sort of like a rough/young Howard Jones. I couldn't find out anything about him...do you know anything about this guy/his group? Thanks!!
80zforever (2009-04-27)
Thanks for the comments. You're all welcome.tkm0718 Martin Human song is off a single, the b-side is a song called Rock and Caves. If I can locate the vinyl I will rip it for you. Now I am not quite sure if he had a full lp, but I kind of think he had.

you have quite a niche, your compilations actually dig up what was burried by time... many 80's comps out there give you back what was played on the radio only, but fail to dig deeper.keep up the good work. i was born in 1981, and some of these songs were played, others i am discovering for the first time. to originality and memory!!! cheers

i wanted to add, THE SOUND really started sounding more new wave after jeapardy, from the lion's mouth, and all fall down... THE SOUND is my favorite band, and i really dig their post-post-punk sound where they started sounding more new wave. of course, nothing beats jeopardy in my book, but shock of daylight and heads and hearts is good throughout.there is an 80's compilation entitled: man vs machine that features bands like: the bible, into paradise, the darling buds, clan of xymox, the sound, and others.
