Humpe Sisters Projects - (Neue Deeutsche Welle –NDW)

Another somewhat overlooked music scene of the 70s and 80s was German New Wave (Neue Deeutsche Welle –NDW) Most of these artists sang in their native language of German. Though these artists were extremely popular in the German speaking areas of Europe, some never made a dent in the English speaking regions. Naively, most of these bands are categorized in that so called "One Hit Wonder" category that Americans use ignorantly and egocentrically for U.K. & European Artists that only have one "hit" in the US. Most of these so called "One Hit Wonder" bands have multiple hits as well as Gold & Platinum record sales around the world. Many of the artists are still making music 20 or 30 years later. Some of the most popular Artists of that scene are Nena, Falco, Peter Schilling, Trio, DAF, Hubert Kah, and Nina Hagen. Sadly, one of the most talented individuals that is often overlooked in the Western World is Annette Humpe and her sister Inga Humpe. They have been in some of the biggest bands of the German New Wave scene ever; Ideal, Neonbabies, DOF, Humpe Humpe, and Swimming With Sharks. (Note: DOF was intended as a comedy album, but had a monstrous music hit with Codo.) Thanks so much for this torrent! The discography is slightly off - the only Ideal album is a 12 track called "Platinum Collection" which seems like a greatest hits - is this an official release, or something homemade?
