Hello SciFi-Sumo!! I want to ((thank you)) for making this posible for us all. It have be good quality and good stuff there hehe. We who love Sumo, always are greatful for your work. Anyway...what can we say, only that it was a very good January 2009 Tournament and lotts of good matches. Many Sumo wrestless was good to. And in the end...ASASHORYU...U know who!! hehehe...OK, hope to se you and al the others here who helped SciFi-Sumo with this in Mars Tournament. And Again THANX!! Sumo forever se you in Mars Tournament ;>))

Thanks for posting this basho! I don't mean to sound ungrateful or mean but I was wondering and hoping you could reduce the filesize of the next basho to 1.1GB/file so they can fit nicely on a DVD. ATM the 1.2GB/file size makes them oversized by about 120MBs and I have to re-encode them to make 4 fit on a DVD :/

iceblood (2009-01-26)

SciFi-Sumo,
Thanks for another tournament. You're a hero!
Sumodrax,
No spoilers for God's sake. Some of us prefer not to have idiots tell us who won before we've watched it.

Huarachi (2009-01-26)

SUMODRAX you complete cretin! Thanks a bunch for ruining what would have been an exciting end to a basho. I'm sorry SciFi but it had to said.
A huge thanks for another successful tournament upload!

lito72 (2009-01-26)

Thank you very much for YOUR work, Sci-Fi-Sumo!!! I wait this great returning ASASHORYU at last hulf year!!! And I`m very happy now!

mattako (2009-01-26)

You guys are complaining about SUMODRAX telling us all the result of the basho but my bloody wife told me!!
Still ove her though. TBH spoilers are all around us so i can often be tricky not to hear results before watching. Still the sumo itself is fantiastic this basho so let's just enjoy it.
Once again SciFi a big thank you from us all around the globe.

roidfreak (2009-01-26)

Dear SciFi,

And to you spoilers: please behave!!
See you in march, can´t wait... like always.

When I get a chance, I have bashos from November, September and January 2008. If I can, I will try and seed them soon.
I also have somewhere in my collection, a full day of sumo from 2004 (I think) which includes all divisions. I also have a tape of Sumo from the New York exhibition in the 1980's. These last two are on VHS and I would have to convert them to DVD.
Thanks once again to SciFi-Sumo for all of his hard work and I am eagerly waiting the March basho.
P.S. I am not sure if my station will carry it but the 2009 charity event with sumo notables in attendance will take place on February 11th. If it is aired on my side of the world, I can attempt to convert the event for everyone. Of course the drawback for many is it will be straight Japanese with no English naration or subs. Anyone interested?

iceblood (2009-01-28)

I'm certainly very interested!

sacateca (2009-02-05)

Hey, thanks for this basho once again.
If this is the last public upload for sumo, any chance to sign up somehow for the next basho? Please?

sacateca (2009-02-06)

Right. Well, i hope someone does.
i don't understand though why you play police and worry about what people say on comments for your torrents. Lighten up.

mattako (2009-02-12)

SciFi-Sumo i am shocked to hear this is the last public upload you are doing !!
I have only just found you and now you are stopping which means no more Sumo for me again!
I do hope you change your mind for this March or at least you let us know where we may be able to sign up somewhere so we could access your uploads again.

Titlover33 (2009-03-11)

Cheap fking bastard.
You just wanted money the whole time.
I, among alot of other intelligent people didnt give you a penny, you scam artist.

totoro1060 (2009-03-18)

Hi SciF-Sumo. How do I get in touch with you?
I would rather make a contribution than pay NHK again.
Thanks

Shikigami_SuMO (2009-03-22)

If someone wants to pay $20 to cover the cost of ordering the channel I'll be glad to upload the english audio version of the next basho. Email me shikigami_sumo(at)hushmail.com
