Thank you for this. iTunes won't let me download the OS 2.0 update but keeps offering it. It has actually offered it for about 16 hours now and I still get an error every time I try to legally purchase it. Sucks to Apple!

Thats exactly what happened to me, i found a link to a behind-the-scenes server at apple that hosted the file, so i downloaded it and posted it here.

this version has not yet had an unlock released, the iphone dev team that are making the hack have finished it but will not be releasing it this weekend. i reccomend that you restore to 1.1.4 unjailbroken before proceeding with this, or you can wait until the next version of pwntool is available. on the ipod after this update is all the ipod stuff including the january upgrade, as well as the app store, which lets you install 3rd party applications although they have to be pre-approved by apple.

I left it in my download folder.

Start itunes and connect ipod.
Then hold alt+cmd while clicking the 'search for update' tab.
it should bring up a finder window and then just go to wherever it is on your comp.

Thanks for the download, worked perfect, you don't even have to restore it! just updated it over a 1.1.4 jailbroken firmware! too bad the new jailbreaker is only for MAC atm :(

You need an account with apple. That is how you would pay for an App that cost money
