Do you know how completely pointless 320kbps VBR is? The highest bitrate an mp3 frame can be is 320, so you've only managed to slightly degrade quality from 320 cbr while completely defeating the purpose of vbr. Congrats.

VonNegga isn't right. The point of VBR is to use more bitrate for the parts that require it and less for those that don't, like silences. A 192kps VBR will be lower quality than a 320kbps VBR because the maximum bitrate that can be used by the encoder is lower. Setting a higher max. bitrate however doesn't stop the encoder from using less when it isn't needed. A part that is encoded at 128kbps will be encoded at that bitrate for both the 192 and 320 setting. You set the max. bitrate to encode at not the min. The min. depends on your quality setting. The 0-9 scale or whatever it is. If you set it at 0 it will encode at top quality. The only difference between 320CBR and 320VBR is that the later saves space as only the parts that require 320kbps will be encoded at that bitrate.

Like 320kbs honestly matters, most humans can't detect the difference between 192kbs and 320kbs.
Also looking into what VBR and CBR is, and what they do, and how they work, I would say I'd almost always use VBR for music.
