For some reason I can't open the application file, anyone know why or how I can fix it? I mean, everything looks in order; I just can't open the file. It looks like it's about to open; and then nothing comes up.

If you're using this with a version of Alice that doesn't have the play american mcgees alice option in the menu you must first do this:
Go to My DocumentsMy GamesAlice Madness ReturnsAliceGameConfig
Open AliceEngine.ini
At bottom under [AliceGame.AliceGameEngine], change GIsSpecialPCEdition=FALSE to TRUE will unlock all DLC dresses and weapons.
As you see that unlocks DLC weapons and dresses as well as the play mcgees alice option in main menu. ENJOY!

I had to create an account just to say thanks to the seeder.
For people unsure about what this torrent is: this is what included in the complete collection of Alice Madness Return and is the prequel of Alice Madness Return. It is a remastered version of the original American McGee's Alice (which dated back to early 2000). This version supports new resolution option (widescreen) and can be played on modern OSes without any compatiblity issues.
By using the small hack posted by Se7enex you will be able to enable all DLCs (dresses + weapons) even if your copy is not the complete edition. You will also be presented with an option to play American McGee's Alice from Alice Madness Returns' main menu.
However, since most if not all releases of Alice Madness Returns on PTB are not the complete edition, clicking on the option will just close Alice Madness Returns and without running the original Alice because the system could not find the latter.
This is when this torrent comes to play. By copy the folder Alice1 to the same direction as that of Alice Madness Returns, e.g.
If your installation path is:
C:Alice Madness Returns
then place American McGee's Alice like this:
C:Alice1
You will then be able to launch the American McGee's Alice from Alice Madness Returns ' main menu. Try to play both Alice, it will help you understand the plot of the sequel much better.
