I understand, viruses are hard to deal with.
I have no way to prove that it works. The only way is to have other people that has finished the torrent to justify it for me here.

The only thing is that it has not been patched. Patching it yourself is not that hard though. Just search around Garena forums.

It is a complete stand-alone game. You can start playing single player immediately even without Garena.

I've downloaded this version but cant seem to play it.
unzipped it and tried to play it but it only shows the starting and the intro cinematic, then once it goes to the load screen before the main menu, it always hangs.

Try defragmenting the files you have extracted. It could be taking a long time to load the files, especially for laptop/iMac 2.5" hard drives.

There is nothing to copy over, just extract the whole archive to any folder on your harddrive and run left4dead.exe and you can start playing instantly.
Garena is a virtual LAN service like hamachi, it allows you to play online with other Garena players without steam. Google "garena" and the first link is the deal.

No it still keeps hanging at loading screen. i waited for like 5 minutes. and i see my mouse at the loading screen. What should i do?

I just extracted the whole archive to C:\Program Files\Left 4 Dead

after a while i get an assert message and that says it has a problem with .\memstd.cpp
whatever i click on, nothings works.
