If you don't know how to play a .mkv file, you should stick yo your .avi in the standard def. At least google it before you start saying it doesn't work......

if its an mkv file try to use roxio pro 8 or xilisoft HD video converter and it will convert the file into an mp4, 1080p or 720p either way or mts2, many formats =]
just give it a try and it will help you alot
