@wino4life Yeah, there are so many programs that are great but...making DVD's out of this wouldn't be great. For example, season 4 is 5.45 gigs, 1 gig too much for a standard dvd disk.
My solution was to convert the files using mkv2vob (free application, no need to use piratebay for it). They come out perfect quality. Stream to my tv through PS3, done. Not to mention, the conversion only takes about 30 sec / episode.

Anyone have problems with the sound dropping out for a second at a time irregularly throughout? Just watched S08E08 and it kept happening. When I rewind back with VLC, that bit plays fine, so it's just like the sound randomly drops out sometimes, but not other times. Can't really watch it like this, but don't know how to fix it.

Good torrent, downloaded overnight no problem. Episodes all play fine so far (watched the first 8 seasons, no special features yet). On VLC, the subtitles turn on by default and are not in English. And like others have said, the PEZ dispenser episode had the commentary's audio only. This is the only Seinfeld torrent I've downloaded, but it seems much more complete than the others out there.
In terms of quality - the episodes are all in PAL format, so they play slightly faster than they would have when aired in America. This includes audio, which is noticeably higher-pitched. This can be fixed in VLC by setting the play speed to exactly 0.96. Also, the video and audio was transcoded, thus not making this as high-quality as it could be. The video looks fine, but I'm not sure how the original DVD looked so I can't say if the compression was done well or not.
If I were to change things about this, I'd not have transcoded the audio at least; I'd want to preserve quality, as well as the commentary tracks. Some parts are interlaced as well, but I don't think that would be an easy fix. And of course I'd want it to play at the right speed without any tweaking required by the end user, which would probably be a lot of trouble if the source was PAL DVDs. But of course NTSC DVDs might need a 3:2 pulldown or have some sort of frame rate alteration done to get them to be proper 24 (or 23.976) FPS.
Lastly, I can only hope Seinfeld is released on Blu-Ray eventually. Since making an uncompressed torrent of that would be a breeze, I'd probably make it and upload it myself because of how much I care about quality.

Just FYI, if people haven't read the rest of the comments:
This torrent was created from the PAL DVDs, which run about 4% faster (25fps versus NTSC 23.97) than what people in north american consider normal. This means everyone's voice is slightly higher than normal. It also means the show is 4% shorter.

@arctype The subtitles aren't "hardcoded". They are a separate track that you can disable (in VLC, for instance). You can even remove them with mkvmerge.
@joeblow8579 Your arithmetic is incorrect. The NTSC frame rate is 30, not 24 (24 is for movies). So shitty players that play it at 30 are what cause it to sound higher-pitched. VLC plays it correctly.

Good quality rip.. Subs arent hardcoded, program like VLC you can choose alternative languages or to switch em off totally.

Shorter runtimes than NTSC = altered framerate.
The voices are high-pitched. It's on ANY player. The framerate has been changed somehwere along the chain. I assume the PAL set was ripped, so maybe it's the DVD, I dunno.

It's in the audio not separate in the container..
I checked with MKVToolnix to see if i can mux it out.
i checked #15 and its not like that and neither is any previous episodes.
I have not checked past S03E15 yet.
Figured i'd warn people because it's irritating.

And if mkv file are a problem it's easy to convert them to MP4 files super quick.. you can use lots of stuff like MP4Box or my favorite Avidemux.
Also it has subs and they added inside the container so they can be removed if you don't want them and you don't see them if you turn them off etc.. myself i hate subs lol

For DVDRips this quality is far above normal !
And if mkv files are a problem it's easy to convert them to MP4/AVI etc you can use lots of stuff like MP4Box or my favorite Avidemux.

Best Seinfeld Torrent on the net.... MKV is easy to work with and plays on everything I use to play my Shows/files.....I downloaded this in January 2012 and watched the whole series. Thanks to TSV for the Torrent. I came back here to see if I could download 720 version but after reading a few comments that it isn't worth it as they are mostly TV rips.

If you want to get rid of Subtitles from the mkv file, there is a quick an easy process by using a program called mkvmerge GUI. Add file, untick subtitle and then you mux them together. Do this for all of them and you have no subtitles

These subtitles are fucking annoying. Even when you delete the subtitles, they are here. What language is this? Flemish? At least if they were Spanish I'd feel like I am learning something useful.
I shouldn't have to use a special program to get rid of subtitles I don't want and didn't load. This is stupid.
Without the subtitles, this torrent would be fine.
