English Synopsis: Introduces the picaro, the Spanish non-hero, by means of a typical series of picaresque adventures. It draws on the writings of Cervantes, Quevedo, and Aleman to portray the prototypical picaro who lives at the margin of society and is forever on the move from master to master; a character who enables these authors both to present a realistic view of society and to criticize it.
