Maybe it doesn't work with the popular torrent, this is real and cracked and it is almost double the size, although the other is compressed so i can't say for sure, haven't unzipped it yet.
Nothing to lose by trying though, so a torrent with the patcher and the crack would be nice so we rule that option out (or not).

My speed seems to cut down towards the end. At 700 kB/s now. But my average's on 1,2 MB/s. Pretty amazing how much speed peers can shoot out. In about 30 to 45 minutes I can tell you if it works or not.

Decided to check here while waiting for my DRM-free copy from gog.com to unlock. Nice to see a game company treat buyers as people and trust them to pay for the game even without copy protection to stop them from pirating it. They also refunded me with GoG store credit for the price difference between dollars and euros, so I don't end up paying 1€ for 1$, and can instead get a couple of free games with that money. Nice. I also hear that they have disabled geo-IP data collection, which allows people from Australia to manually set their location to elsewhere when purchasing the game from gog.com, and circumvent the Australian governments decision to import a censored version of the game.

Doesn't work for me. At the start of the game i can't hear what the guards says and then when geralt is sitting at the table when the other dude is talking to him (without a voice) the game gets stuck. No crash or freeze, he just sits there and nothing else is happening.
Oh and everything is in polish (text and such) even though i chose Eng when i installed.

I started with an average of 30kb/s, then it went up to an average of 100kb/s and now i average 400kb/s after 12-14h hours at 66.7% atm. The download will be over in about 3 hours.

To the "Dont Pirate THis": The thing is, that other than the poeple who download to demo the game to then buy, are the people that can not afford to buy, will just get 2nd hand, or just will never buy a game. I installed the game with patch and replaced dll. It launches fine but in-game I get "stuck" after the cinematic when I'm sitting on a chair. It seems like I should somehow move but I tried all buttons and nothing happens. Also, menus show as "MenuNew_T" instead of "New" etc.. Anyone else getting those problems? Thank you.

I checked and it seems that it really is so far a false positive. I tell you what I did. I have Win XP SP3 and I use avast professional edition. The AVAST says it is a win32 malware gen. The msconfig file is unaffected and there are no attempt to override or bring anything from the net whatsoever. I also checked the system32 folder and the hidden TEMP folder from user foler (documents & settings). The game RUNS with the paul.dll file but I have to disbale the antivirus in order to play. I also run a memory check with avast and I did a boot scan with avast. I checked if browsers on my hdd have the same start page etc. So YES, I can say that that file is a false positive so far.

Im having an odd issue with this game. When the game starts i cant see shit but a big lighted up colored blob (everything is foggy and orange in the prison for example and the only object i can see is the light source) and the shadows of whats going on in the actual game. Dude I am not new here, I may have the double of your age though. I know what a crack is and how it works. I also noticed that with everygame even so the cracks are not reported as viruses. So far this is , it seems, the only exception in hundreds of game saw here. In the end, when this was the case (the antivirus reported it as a virus) , it still emerged at least ONE crack which was not reported as a virus so you are not right. When a relatively good antivirus report a file as virus we all should pay attention.

For the people that are having the issue of the launcher restarting when they try to launch the game, this is what I did to get it to work. 1. I downloaded the newest drivers from AMD (Not sure if you NEED to do this) and 2. I directly copied the paul.dll into the bin folder of the installation directory. I guess my antivirus automatically stopped paul.dll from transfering over so I had to turn it off to do that. Make sure to check to see if that dll is in your bin folder and if not, it should be! hope this helps

Trying to copy the file paul.dll from the mounted cd.2 but it doesnt allow me to copy turned off essencials and still the same problem.
First it says "You need to be admin to copy this file"
(Press "Shield" Continue)
Then it says i need to run as admin to be able to move the file.
I do run as admin its the only user on this comp, atm using Win7 64bit.
This is the first time im not able to figure out how to crack a skidrow game :S

For people having trouble with the game just returning to the launcher on startup, or with missing or invisible text. These are also a couple of the bugs that are known to affect some people with the retail boxed and digital download versions of the game so it isn't the cracked versions here that are at fault. The missing text is a compatibility problem with the Nvidia drivers apparently. Turn off the 3D vision drivers and if this doesn't work try the new beta drivers from the Nvidia website. The launcher problem has not got a single fix yet although some have managed to get around it. For everyone else we just have to do what those who bought the box are doing and wait for the patch to arrive.

Now I've been trying to install it all day and night after driving out to UPS to pick up the game I keep getting get a Cycle Redundancy Check DVD drive problem during the first part of the install process.
And so after looking over at thewitcher.com, Gamefaqs etc and scrambling to update most of my PC's drivers I'm right here dling the pirate version hoping to get the data 2 part that the game cd wouldn't let me copy and paste like the witcher.com support faq said to do.
Unbelievable maybe I should have gotten the digital version or just dl'ed it from the start.

Seeing as people have problems with it, i'll explain how to move the Paul.dll file if you get the ''No rights for this shizzle'' option.
PAUL.DLL MOVE WORK-AROUND
The reason you cant move the paul.dll is cause its on the disc that you most likely mounted with deamon tools or such, go to your downloads folder > DVD2 > Sr-TWB2 > Right click the ISO open with winrar > Inside the winrar navigate to the bin folder > Drag the paul.dll from this winrar folder to your desktop > Move it from your desktop into the installation folder.
Thats as easy as I can make it, hope it works out.

EN/PL version wasn't working for me, so i downloaded the multi5 version. After installing I applied the patch and then I replaced the original paul.dll file with the paul.dll file from the crack folder. When I try to run the game from the bin folder nothing happens... and when I try running with the launcher I see the wolf logo for couple of seconds but then it snaps back to the launch screen... so a big disappointment after downloading the multi5 version...

For people who are having problems coping the pauls.dll file AND are using Norton NIS 2011: Go into Norton's setting and create scan exceptions for the game install folder AND the CD Drive. Then you can copy the file.
IMPORTANT: if you partitioned your drive to have your OS on a single partition, then if the file was a virus, it would try to migrate to the C:\ Drive and Norton would stop it.
Even if you didn't, it would still be stopped as it's doing something it shouldn't and would be picked up by Sonar.

Don't get me wrong but this paul.dll file is not alright. I installed today the other skidrow release(FABLE 3). As you might know it has a similar file but that one is not reported as having a virus by the antivirus on my pc. Can any illuminate mind explain me why the difference ? My understanding (although not 100% accurate, but i think it's somewhat though) is that pirated games like this have cracks.
These cracks are originally the original file, only that it has been altered by groups of people like Skidrow and such, and anti-viruses are not programmed to know the difference between viruses and cracks, therefore when it detects that a file has been altered in some way, it automatically sees it as a virus, it usually thinks it's a Trojan virus.
That's my understanding of the issue at least, might not be completely accurate.

You have to create a shortcut to the .exe file that came with the skidrow cracked content. You cannot run it from the "Launcher" that is created after installing the game. I also made a shortcut to the Witcher 2 configurator so I can tweak graphics to balance performance/eyecandy.

Install the game
run the patcher found in the skidrow folder
TURN OFF ALL VIRUS SHIELDS
copy the paul.dll from the skidrow folder to the bin directory, commonly c:/program files(x86)/the witcher 2/bin
play the game.
Again: TURN OFF ALL VIRUS SHIELDS OR THE AV WILL SIMPLY DELETE THE paul.dll AND THE GAME WILL NOT RUN.
And for those expecting a similar experience to the original witcher you WILL be dissappointed. The witcher 2 was designed with consoles in mind so the combat system and just about every other system have been written for the gamepad jockeys. Like all other devs these days CDProjektRed have sold out to Sony & Microsoft. Thanks to the uploaders for saving me the money that I would have spent on this game had it even resembled the 1st one in gameplay.

Make sure you have all graphics drivers updated. Make sure you have directx updates. Make sure you installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 package. Then if you're running windows 7/Vista try running as admin.

Finished downloading after about 48 hours which is expected since it's a new release and twice the size of a normal game.
If you have any problems starting the game , create a shorcut of the witcher2 .exe found in the bin folder and paste it on your desktop. Be sure to open it once, because I clicked it 3 times thinking it didn't open, and it started 3 seperate windows of the game.
Oh, and the game is.....well....you'll find out......

No it's not that what is happening;)...The antivirus doesn't report a crack just because is modified. First it compares it with a data base and SECOND...is "guessing" (heuristic scan and prediction) that there is something wrong with that file. But even if it would be as you put it, then it shoould have see it , too, as a virus, right ? (the file from FABLE III )...How do you account for this "discrepancy" ? I am open to suggestions...

slackass99 is kinda right but it's the torrent program. People do not know how to set them up usually leaving everything at the default or an auto configuration which causes issues with download speeds.

So for everyone having downloading issues you need to follow these settings I am about to give.
Disconnect your router and hook your modem direct to your pc. Routers hold your connection back for various reasons I wont explain. If you're running wireless then you automatically fail at torrenting.
Do a speedtest at speedtest.net to determine you max upload speed.
Vuze users go to tools>options>transfers
Set your upload speed to %70 of your full upload bandwidth. This will ensure you have upstream left over so you don't choke out your downstream and that you're giving out potentially more upstream than you currently are at the moment.
Next set max connections per torrent to 0 which is unlimited and max connections globally to 0 as well. Set max upload slots per torrent to 20.

Those are my settings with this connection type.

If you have horrible upstream on your connection don't expect to see good download speeds because torrents mostly work off what you give in. I can upload at 1 MB/s which is %80 of my upstream but I download at up to 8 MB/s. Usually averaging 4 MB/s.

To all who get the launcher error. where the launcher starts and it looks like the game is going to start then pops back to the launcher. Change you desktop resolution. Mine was set at 2048x1152, changed it to 1600x900 and it worked. tested with the shidrow release and the blackbox release

Hey guys during installation i always get this "CRC error:The fileD:/games/the witcher doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor." how do I fix this and has anyone else been having this problem. BTW on a second note how do i add the "paul.dll" to the ignored list on Kaspersky Pure because it always automatically deletes the file when I'm trying to install this other SKIDROW game(Fable III). After many installation attempts and by following the exact instructions listed, i have ran into a wall.
After patching and copy/replacing the paul.dll folder i click on the witcher2 in the bin folder and nothing happens. I create a shortcut to it on desktop and nothing happens. It has once before showed the witcher loading icon but when i clicked it it said program was not responding.
Anyone else having this probem or already figured out what is wrong.
P.S. i seeded 46GB of this game so far

@ Sirus804: I had the same problem and I solved it. In my case, the problem was the Paul.dll file I placed in the bin of the witcher 2 program file. Somehow it kept blocking the start-up. Figured it was my virus shield that was blocking it, I just disconnected from the internet and turned off my virus protection. After that, I could play the game just fine.

FOR YOU MORONS WHO NEVER SEEM TO FIGURE ANYTHING OUT: Install game, run patch THEN DEACTIVATE YOUR ANTIVIRUS/SHIELD (Windows Defender, AVG Resident Shield etc) And copy the paul.dll into game folder. Keep the Antivirus deactivated whenever you want to play. No need to disconnect internet connection.

For those who have problems with Blurry picture and cant just see anything but light sources.
This is how you fix it.
Eks:Go in to Catalyst Control center:
go into 3D application settings.
Anything that has to do with Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering,you have choose "USE APPLICATION SETTINGS" on both.

It's very simple to mount..
Just unpack the rar files.. You will get two ISO files.
you mount the first ISO and when it asks you to insert CD 2.. simply mount the 2nd ISO and press ok.

click on daemon tools and select device:1
browse till you find disk 1 of the witcher select open
click next a few times
wait till your prompted to insert disk 2
click daemon tools ####UNMOUNT DISK 1#### IN DEVICE:1 slot select disk 2
press ok on the game file to continue install.
when its done select finish. exit off the enter serial key screen.
####DO NOT TOUCH A DAMN THING####
(assuming you still have disk 2 mounted) go to my computer. select the virtual drive that disk 2 is running on. is prolly something like F:
DO NOT TOUCH ANY FILES INSIDE THE INSTALLED GAME
go to skidrow folder.
DO NOT COPY FILES
you will see a folder called bin and an exe file
DO NOT COPY FILES
run the patch from the skidrow folder. DO NOT MOVE TO GAME FOLDER.
AFTER U RUN THE PATCH. open the bin folder and copy the paul.dll to the bin folder of your installed witcher game

1) Mount cd 1 then install, when it ask for cd 2, then mount cd 2..continue..
2) When it finishes and asks for activate code, close the Activate window then explore CD 2 folder Skidrow, run the patch, then copy the Paul.dll to game folder should be by default c:\program file\the witcher 2\Bin ...(make sure u disable antivirus software while doing this) ..thats it ...play game

Okay. I have installed the game. I have closed the activation window. I have run Patcher_EFIGS. Another Activation window pops up. I closed it. This issue is caused by trying to apply the patch after copying the cracked Paul.dll
The patch only works if you have the regular Paul.dll in your game folder. If you backed it up, just put it back and you can run the patch. If you didn't, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Instructions on Install
1) unpack rar files, if you dont know how to do this, search and download winrar or some other rar opener.
2)Mount the image using Magic ISO or some other disk mounter; or simply burn the iso's to disks
3)install; when this is done, a screen will pop up asking for activation, close this.
4)explore CD 2 and click on the SKIDROW folder, run the patcher. DO NOT COPY THE PATCHER OVER TO DIRECTORY
5) if the activation window appears again, close it again.
6) while inside the skidrow folder, enter the bin folder and copy the paul.dll
7) go to your witcher 2 directory/bin and paste the paul.dll in there. replace.
8) go to main directory and click on the application that is named "launcher"; this will bring up a menu, click on the options choice to select your graphics.THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU CAN DO THIS!!
9) To launch the game use the application in the bin folder called "witcher2" NOT THE APP IN THE MAIN DIRECTORY!!!

Okay, there are three possible problems as to why your game is not working.
1) you made a mistake because you did not follow the instructions exactly as they are written. If this is the case, then the fix is obvious.
2) the game is to graphically intensive or your computer and it cant handle it, in that case, upgrade your computer or don't play.
3) The game files may have been corrupted while downloading, try redownloading the torrent, let me know if you are still experiencing problems after checking all 3 of these problems. gl hf and gg

Okay, now that you have told me that the updater is telling you that the copy is no good then i assure you that your copy of the game is corrupt. You can buy it if you like (which i recommend, and i will soon do the same), or you can attempt to redownload the game. If you attempt to redownload the game, i know of one trick for utorrent that may allow you to download the game a slight bit faster.
But you will have an easier time of things to just buy the game, this game is worth it anyways.

Guys i´ve bin trying to get this to work for 2 days and now i´m out of ideas.
This is what i´ve bin doing so far:
1: mount with daemon tools
2: install with the setupfile located in CD 1
3: run patcher from the skidrow crack torrent from TPB.
4: Copy paul.dll from same skidrow file
5: try to launch the game

Some weird thing happened to me. After installation I applied Patcher_EFIGS.exe and since my antivirus wouldn't allowe my to copy over poul.dll, I started game with original poul.dll.
I just closed any activation popups and blocked game with firewall. I`ve also installed official patch 1.1. It works like charm, at least prolog (hope there's no other security - like "delayed" one).

Well the torrent works...just know you have to run the .exe from the Skidrow Bin folder... that was my issue...Well, that and I thought the game was lame. You can't adjust graphics (which by the way were garbage imo...) and you can't adjust mouse inversion... both not TO big of a deal but they did take me out of the game. @megadethbaka: game is a big BUG. I use Logitech G35 headphones and they DO NOT work. Game starts without sound. If I start the game with my normal speakers as Default Audio device - game starts with sound :S

For those of you confused about mounting the iso, you need to have winrar. You just right click the top RAR file, then click extract to srtw2a or srtw2b depending on the disk. It'll extract the iso to a seperate folder within the current one. Then you just mount like usual. Works great, but this game is kind of lame. Cheers.

The game and crack works fine. You must copy the bin folder from the SKIDROW folder into the games install folder. Then run the vcredist_x86. Be sure to run the patch as it says in the instructions. AND TO ALL WHO SAY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IT MENTIONS NOTHING OF THE VCREDIST_x86. piss poor instructions. My launcher was not coming up at first. Not sure if this helped but i did transfer the data3 rar file into my install also. I tried the launcher again and it took at least 30 seconds to a minute to finally come up with the settings window. after that i was able to start up the game through the launcher.

For those with low speeds, I recommend just waiting a few hours. It should pick up. Still just a reminder guys if you're not seeding a ratio over 1 you're taking more than you're giving and could get banned from trackers and your computer will be spammed with viruses like leech influenza and you could catch it and die so remember to seed.

Browse DVD 2 and go into the SKIDROW/bin folder...copy paul.dll into your bin folder in the install directory. For some reason this file keeps getting deleted from the install directory. When I copy and paste it back in, the game will then launch. I hope this helps.

hei u guys don't waste ur time by downloading this torrent instead of this , download the torrent uploaded by extremezone(BLACKBOX) only 6.33 gb.
i have myself downloaded the torrent by extremezone and it works fine(but only english).
extremezone torrent is kind of a repack only and ot works fine....
it decompresses the file and takes nearly 13.3gb of ur hard disk space.
the game lacks nothing not even a single cutscene.
on top of that u can patch the game also with the version 1.1 and then with the version 1.2.
u would find the instructions for patching in the comments of torrent uploaded by extremezone(blackbox) .
i'm nearly into the game for about 12 hrs and it is running flawlessly...

To those having problems, remember to follow the EXACT steps.
1. Unpack the release
2. Mount or burn image
3. Install (game will auto start with a activation screen, quit that)
4. Run Patcher_EFIGS.exe from the SKIDROW folder on DVD 2
5. Copy all files from the SKIDROW folder on DVD 2 to the The Witcher 2installation folder
6. Play the game
That means not putting the skidrow files in before patching, i did that so I just did a clean install and started the patch before anything.

Just finished download for blackbox version, succesfully started setup, i knew it wasn't my computer. Haven't tested installing/in-game. This version is not a workign torrent. I recommend ppl to download Blackbox version, only 1 .iso, no need to extract files first.

Ive had no trouble installing or running this game, there is nothing wrong with this torrent. This is all i had to do perhaps it will be helpfull to some of you.
1.) Unpack both disk 1 and 2.
2.) Mount disk 1 using either Daemon Tools, or Power ISO.
3.) At some point it will ask for disk 2, unmount disk 1, mount disk 2 hit OK.
4.) After install completes launch the game when prompted for an activation code fill the bar with all 1's (11111111111etc) hit ok and the updater should begin, ( there may be another prompt asking if u want to begin patching i forget) if there is hit YES.
5.) Let it patch for awhile.
6.) After abit it will inform u that the 1.2 patcher is ready select OK. ( this should also give u all DLC content available:-)
7.) Then just open up Disk 2 and copy the paul.dll file from in the SKIDROW folder, to your install directory and overwrite the original.
8.) Play the Fuck out of this kick ass game!!!!

People, listen up. YOU DON'T NEED ANY CRACKS TO PLAY THE GAME! There is a reason paul.dll shows up as a virus when you scan it. It's malware disguised as "crack.
1. Unpack the .rar's
2. Mount and install
3. When prompted for product key just hit enter and let it patch.
4. Play the game.
Again, you don't need to copy over any "cracked" exe's or dll's. Game will work as is, but you won't have access to DLC without proper product key.

listen up people, once u have downloaded the torrent, open up your AVG (or whatever) and go to Resident Shield (Advanced Settings). There u will find Excluded Items. (Click on that) and add the file u just downloaded. Job done. Now your AVG won't scan it, but your not turning it off. u should do this for every game u download. For people that don't know a CRACK or a KEYGEN is a TROJAN.. Hope this helps

Works 100% for me. Performance is relatively slow on AMD Crossfire setup. Max Graphics around 50fps and lowest graphics around 50fps. I'm thinking it's an engine or driver problem, but everything is updated so I'm assuming it's the game engine.

Fine release, fine release.
As stated elsewhere...
1. Install the game
2. Run the patcher off DVD B
3. Run the official 1.1 international patch
4. Update to 1.2 from the launcher
5. Play (don't try activating)...
No need for paul.dll anymore. Better fps for me, you get all the dlc, and playability and crash fixes in game.

Ive had no trouble installing or running this game, there is nothing wrong with this torrent. This is all i had to do perhaps it will be helpfull to some of you.
1.) Unpack both disk 1 and 2.
2.) Mount disk 1 using either Daemon Tools, or Power ISO.
3.) At some point it will ask for disk 2, unmount disk 1, mount disk 2 hit OK.
4.) After install completes launch the game when prompted for an activation code fill the bar with all 1's (11111111111etc) hit ok and the updater should begin, ( there may be another prompt asking if u want to begin patching i forget) if there is hit YES.
5.) Let it patch for awhile.
6.) After abit it will inform u that the 1.2 patcher is ready select OK. ( this should also give u all DLC content available:-)
7.) Then just open up Disk 2 and copy the paul.dll file from in the SKIDROW folder, to your install directory and overwrite the original.
8.) Play the Fuck out of this kick ass game!!!!

Thanks SKIDROW for this solid release. It took a couple of weeks downloading, but the timing couldn't be better.
I've been playing fine for a while on my HD5770, but today when a saved game or new game starts, most of the screen is black, it's artifact-ey as though my graphics card is dying. But Homefront and Portal2 still play fine, and common Windows apps too.
My on-board GPU, HD4200, for the sake of testing, is ultra-slow at the lowest settings but looks like one would expect, not a mix of black, grey, translucent, and transparent.
I'm wondering is it because my copy was internet-detected as not legal yet? I'm definitely buying a legal copy this week though. It'd just be a major bummer if the problem still persists them.

I have just installed Crysis2 and it runs successfully on said HD5770.
I've uninstalled and re-installed Witcher 2 with my network interface card disabled, the problem of artifact-ey translucent display persists.
I don't get it:
- Portal 2, Fifa11, Homefront, Crysis2 work fine on my HD5770
- Witcher2 can 'work' at lowest settings on my on-board GPU, HD4200
- Witcher2 gives a black/grey/translucent display when the saved game/new game starts on the HD5770.
Any ideas?

i first tried the game with the patch + the paul.dll file from disc 2..
but i keep getting errors where it says it misses:

it also says this when i install the game and than try to launch it (without patch or anything else)

Btw for the .dll error, it's missing a dll, and it's really easy to replace... simply go to DLL-files.com, type in the right dll. Go to the smaller blue link (underneath the advert one) it'll probs say "or you can download the dll file here" and download that, open the folder it comes in and copy over that dll, it's actually that easy. Worked for me.

I bought a retail version of this but my cd drive cant read the dvd. Customer support told me that my only option was to replace my cd drive with a newer one. I was thinking that maybe i could torrent the game without the crack and then just treat it like normal, install from the hard drive instead of through my cd drive and just use my own registration key. any thoughts on if that would work or not?

This is a great game. If you guys like it you should definitely buy it! They have been nice enough to us consumers to not put DRM in their game and all DLC is free! They deserve to get our money, unlike big corporate scumbags.

I have the same problem with this game that I had with Two worlds II, the games graphics 'jerk' constantly no mater how low i set the graphics levels and no mater what I do, my system has at least double the minimum requirements so far as I'm aware, here's what i have

Any1 have the issue with the very first flash back sort of quest were you are firing the ballista and you cant get past the part where you aim it? @tidusffx2 the reason it doesnt launch is probably because the file that luaches it the "paul.dll" is marked as a win32/wwwhack" and will be removed if you dont tell the computer not to. that file is what lets it launch.

I had a CRC error during the installation. Thus the dialogues could not be heard at all (music and other sounds worked).
So to have a fully working game follow this steps.
1. Install the game.
2. At the point where the CRC error is displayed press ignore and let the installation finish.
3. When the activation code window appears just hit ok.
4. Let it patch (it will eventually patch up to 1.2).
5. Close the launcher and download en0.w2speech (it's very easy to find).
6. Transfer the file to Installation Folder\CookedPC replacing the old one.
7. Play

INSTALLED THE GAME ALREADY. Just Follow skidrow's instruction. For those unfamiliar with this setup. 1. ,ake sure u extract ***.rar in both Disk 1 and 2. then use the ISO to install as instructed. 3. My only probelem is that paul.dll is considered by my anti vir as a harmful prog. But for those who wanna play just put that file in the exemptions and ur good to go. NO serial number needed. 4. With the torrent above ^^ all you have to do is download the three disks, mount them one by one using daemon starting with the first disk and install. Then, you just mount disk 1 again to finish setup.
Then you just patch it to update 1.2, no cracks or anything. No DRM.

@max_planck_no_1 Get a life. "Faulty torrent" PLEASE! The Skidrow team always provide great torrents, if they don't work on people's computers it's either the game developers fault in the beginning that made a misstake or it's their system that is causing the problem. Why would you go for three discs and etc when you have this and a pretty good seed? My download speed was 1.3Mb/s.
To you others, yes the game works fine and it's one of the best games ever in my opinon. The graphics are great if you can run it on max, but it still is as great if you can't because the storyline and gameplay is epic. I'll give it a 9.5 out of 10. Another thing too, remember to seed when your finished so torrenting will live on!

If you get a corrupt winrar file, get more space on your hardisk and then go to Utorrent and "Force Re-Check" the torrent by right clicking it.
It will download some missing/corrupt datas and you can extract it.

It's amazing to me no one else seems to have noticed this yet.
Go check the file-version of your Witcher2.exe if you don't believe me. It's also proven by how the Mahakaman Rune Sihil sword still won't import from a Witcher 1 save, and that's supposd to be fixed in patch 1.2.
This version of the game refuses to update past 1.1, and I can't find a manual download of the patch lets me install it for this SKIDROW version of the game.
Argh. I hate SKIDROW. There's ALWAYS some sort of stupid bullshit they fuck up on with their releases.
Does anyone know what version of the game SKIDROW cracked?

Calm yourself, kid. I figured out my own work-around. No thanks to dimwitted jackasses like you.
Like I explicitly stated, the AUTO-UPDATER does not work with skidrow's release. It goes to 1.1 and any further checks say its the latest version. And yes, this was without any of the after-release .dzip packs in the CookedPC folder. I recreated this on 4 different reinstalls so you can say whatever fairy tale you want, I'm still fucking right about this.
HOWEVER, I figured out how to get 1.2 installed. You just can't use the auto-updater.
- Install game, completely fresh
- Run patcher_efigs.exe from SKIDROW folder on Disc 2
- BUT DON'T COPY OVER THE PAUL.DLL FROM THAT SKIDROW FOLDER, CONTRARY TO THE .NFO'S DIRECTIONS
- download international version of patch 1.1 manually, install
- download 1.2 manually, install
Now it works.

The weird part about it all is that the patcher_efgis.exe in the SKIDROW folder on Disc 2 doesn't actually update the game to 1.1 (check the witcher2.exe afterwards, it's unchanged), but it somehow makes the game able to update to 1.2 later on.
If you just install the game, quit the activation code request, and then try to immediately install the real patches, they won't execute.
And if you install the game, quit the activation code request, and then let the game auto-update itself, it goes to 1.1 and then claims its the latest version.
Why? I don't know. Skidrow has the laziest scene QA ever and this convoluted crap is sadly typical with their releases.

After the game was done installing, it asked me for a key code. I left it blank. The the game connected to the internet and updated itself. And I was able to play the game.
It's nice to know they don't burden their legitimate customers with burdensome DRM. If the game is good, I'll probably buy it. Such practices should be supported.

Now for the sound, guess it's a patch issue, says i am on version .9 so i will have to look thru the comments to see how to patch to 1.1 and then 1.2 and may fix the g35 sound issue, works fine with reg speakers btw.

2) When it asks you for Activation Key just close that window.
3) DON'T run the patcher on DVD2, immediately run the Official Patcher from thewitcher.com (1.0-1.3)
This will fix performance issues, includes previous DLC (woo!) and remove DRM (no crack required). Oh and a G35 fix is supposed to be included. Read the fixes at the official website.
4) Start the game and enjoy! Hard not to.. :D
5) Support this skilled company and buy it if you like it. This is a game I will buy after torrenting. They deserve it.

ok so heres what i did for bioshock2(similar installation as this game so before downloadoing this thought i'll try on Bioshock2 installation) - clicked the 1st rar file and extracted the .iso file from it to desktop...dragged the .iso file to daemon tools and install window appeared went through the installation....files got installed into program files(x86) folder...window poped up asking me for the dvd2 (heres where i got stuck)...i closed the window asking for the dvd2...went to the installed game folder....right clicked the launcher file and the 'run as administrator' and nothing...
so now what happened where did i go wrong...whats to be done......plzz someone plzzz please and pretty please HELP me with the steps as this kinda torrent files are being uploaded more and more instead of simple torrents with the proper .iso file reagdy to install...oh! and i did read the system info file for bioshock2 too had the same instructions as here...

Your problem is the graphic card. We can max out texture but we should lower shadow quality. Also Disable UberSampling and update game to the latest version. I got 1.3.7010.49836. Hope that we can get a better graphic card :)

Yes its the original one.... After I finish installing I go into DVD 2 and click on the patch and it doesn't complete. So I can't move over dll file cause it still will ask for me to activate it, and if I do the patch gives that message when you move over the file to fast cause you didn't patch it.

Hi, ive installed it fine using the instructions and it runs. But Microsoft security essentials is finding hack tool win32/Wwwhack within the paul.dll. If I quarantine this threat the game doesnt work.
Is this actually a threat? (and according to all the results on google ive seen it is) or is it a false positive and its simply anti virus programs not liking keygens? Please tell, is it safe to keep this?

for thos just starting their download, or if you're just about to install, here's soem advice.
When the installation of your game is done, you'll be asked to enter a regristration key, close that.
Now, download the patch (1.35), install it, launch game and you're done.
Save you having to hassle with cracks, for once. :P

at the end of game installation when the activation box appear n instead of closing it as Skidrow suggested, I click okay and the game does the auto-patch to the latest patch 2.1. n then i don't even need to crack the game nor run the "Patcher_EFIGS.exe" , i just click the game's desktop icon n the game run great.
i tried tis method cuz i've read the article on thewitcher web site:

Works Great, but id advise dling the nearly 1gig of updates before playing. Along with regular bug fixes, the last 2 patches add more options to your game configuration. IE video settings ect. I found this online. Maybe we can use it to get our keys instead of cracking it? I haven't tried it yet. Also, if 2.0 changes this method, you can always try seeing if they hid the key by using the following command:
psexec.exe -s -i regedit.exe
This will allow you to see registry keys locked to the system user. (Equal to root user on windows and more rights than admin.) You need to get psexec.exe which is free as part of the sysinternals package from Microsoft.
1.Press Windows+R OR click on the Start Menu.
2. Enter “regedit” in the text box (without quotation marks).
3. The registry is now opened. On the left side of the windows, you should have several folders. Locate and expand “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” (to expand, click on the small arrow or plus sign on the left).

@Indy87 Make sure extracted from the .rar file and not from the .r00 or .r01 etc. .rar should be near the bottom of the list

This does not work, in SKIDROW folder there is a bin folder and in it is a fail named "paul.dll" or something. I cracked and it asks for the serial. In my opinion there must be more fails in the crack folder.

Hey umm its a huge file right and its only downloading at 40kB/s when its fast and goes down to as far as 5Kb/s. The speed of most torrents ive downloaded are up to 1200kB/s. It should take me about 3 hours to download this but it says 4 days! Im using uTorrent does anyone know whats wrong?

ok sooooo, i have pirated my fair share of games and i have not seen anything like this. i do not know if i glitched or somehow got the wrong files sent to me or... well i just dont know. usually you reciave a pirate in the form of 1-3 ISO files and mabey a text file for some simple directions right? in this pirate i recieved 2 folders named DVD1 and DVD2 which each contain about 200 different ISO files and 1 .info file in each which i can not open. i have no idea what i am supossed to do with all these files and would really love for someone to go ahead and explain this to me a little bit after reading this. thanks for your time -Tmalkamaki-

To all of you unable to figure out what the DVD1 and DVD2 folders are and contain of, the "20 files" are actually compressed files, aka .rar files split into parts.
Download 7-zip or winRAR and simply extract either one of them, and it will automatically extract them all. And violá, there's your .iso files.

It works perfect.
1. Use winrar to extract the dvd ISO 1 and 2.
2. Install the game.
3. It should launch and ask for a cd-key, DON'T type anthing just click OK. It will autopatch two patches.
4. Launch witcher2.exe in /bin.
5. Play the game
6. Buy it.

Anyone who cant figure out how to install:
1. Download
2. go to the folder dvd 1, scroll down and find the zip file.
3. extract the zip file, it will have an ISO file inside it.
4. Mount the ISO file using Power ISO, or similar.
5. Follow the usual install process :)
Repeat for disk 2 if required.

O.K for anyone having trouble with getting this torrent to work, here are the exact steps which you must do to install.
1. download torrent
2. download winrar (free version)
3. downlad daemon tools (free
4.open both disc 1 and disc 2 folders
5. open the first winrar file in each folder and a .iso will be in them
6. extract the .iso file to the desktop
7. once extracted, open daemon tools and mount the first .iso (disc 1) then it will begin the install
8. then when the install asks for disc 2, mount the other.iso file
9. browse to the mounted disc and the install will continue
10. once the installation is done, it will ask for disk key, close that
11. after installing go to computer and open up the second disk .iso, inside should be the skidrow folder
12. open the folder and run the patcher, it will automatically patch the game
13. after patching move the bin folder to the witcher 2 install folder and run the game!
If anything goes wrong write it here and i will try to respond and help!

killler1116 Ive been following your mini guide and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Hit a bit of a rough patch though, maybe you or someone else can help me.
After the installation reached about 3/5th of the way through, it asked me for CD 2 (containing data3 file). I mounted the second .iso file. Browsed for it, but I notice that although in the (J:) drive I'm able to a see a file named data3 (Type: WinRar), when browsing for files in the install I can only see the DirectX and Skidrow folders, neither of which have any effect when selected on the install.
Did I do something wrong or am I missing something? Please help, I'll answer any questions I can if you need me to.

link11223454. i faced the same problem in the beginning. when the installation process needs the disk 2, just mount the iso file on disk 2. then browse the mounted disk (daemon tools one) and it will be alright.

This works 100 percent on my computer atleast.
1. use winrar extract files to
2. Mount the iso with deamontools or something else
3. Install. When asked for dvd 2. Go to where you extracted files and mount dvd2.(sr-twb2.iso
is my iso called).
4. Exist when asked for serial
5. Locate in dvd2 skidrow and run the patcher
6. Put the paul.dll into your bin folder in your game folder.
7. Play game.
