Sorry, the original DVD has no subs. The images come with full menus though.

Thanks for inf.

Tourniquest (2005-06-05)

That might be just as well. The picture is horribly damaged by over-compression in DVD-Shrink, probably. Everything turns into macro blocks at the slightest movement. Pity on a good series.

dtddiver (2005-06-05)

Are you kidding?
I tested all the images on two computers, a pc and a mac, played just fine. Weird. I'll check again, if more people experience this I will rerip and seed agan. Thx. Plz let me know!

ANDuck2 (2005-06-05)

The picture is nothing near 'horribly damaged'. I would guess that most of the things "bad" about the picture is also evident in the original source.

dtddiver (2005-06-05)

I think there must be something with Tourniquest's player or something; I tested it on another computer with a bunch of software and my dvd player, and there is nothing wrong with the quality.

Tourniquest (2005-06-05)

No, there is nothing wrong with my player. I took a couple of screencaps from this disc to show what I mean. Click on the thumbnail and then click on the image again to watch it fullsize. (I have enlarged it to 300% for the sake of clarity.)

These macro blocks, as they are called, appear to a lesser or greater extent all through the disc whenever there is movement, and are the result of compression done in DVD-Shrink or its relatives - because that is what happens if you compress a movie too much with that program.
The average bitrate is 2650 kbps, BTW.

Tourniquest (2005-06-05)

Sorry, didn't mean to triple-post. The Pirate Bay database is screwing with me.

dtddiver (2005-06-05)

Ok, I see what you mean. But in my opinion, these rips are more than god enough to watch, this is, after all, Brideshead and not The Matrix..
People are downloading disc 2&3 after they've seen the first, so it can't be that bad.

GRiDLoK (2005-08-11)

Argh...Is there no one who can seed the last few percentage of disc 1,2,3?
