Not that there aren't moments of intense violence, but No Country for Old Men is their quietest, most existential film yet. In this modern-day Western, Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) is a Vietnam vet who could use a break. One morning while hunting antelope, he spies several trucks surrounded by dead bodies (both human and canine). In examining the site, he finds a case filled with $2 million. Moss takes it with him, tells his wife (Kelly Macdonald) he's going away for awhile, and hits the road until he can determine his next move. On the way from El Paso to Mexico, he discovers he's being followed by ex-special ops agent Chigurh (an eerily calm Javier Bardem). Chigurh's weapon of choice is a cattle gun, and he uses it on everyone who gets in his way--or loses a coin toss (as far as he's concerned, bad luck is grounds for death). Just as Sheriff Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), a World War II vet, is on Moss's trail, Chigurh's former colleague, Wells (Woody Harrelson), is on his. For most of the movie, Moss remains one step ahead of his nemesis. Both men are clever and resourceful--except Moss has a conscious, Chigurh does not (he is, as McCarthy puts it, "a prophet of destruction"). At times, the film plays like an old horror movie, with Chigurh as its lumbering Frankenstein monster. Like the taciturn terminator, No Country for Old Men doesn't move quickly, but the tension never dissipates. This minimalist masterwork represents Joel and Ethan Coen and their entire cast, particularly Brolin and Jones, at the peak of their powers. others didn't seem to have this problem. am running vista - any idea why i can't hear it?
any feedback would be appreicated

alister55 (2008-03-02)

dedmanschest : usually means you don't have the right codec (missing video or sound)

dedmanschest (2008-03-02)

thanks allister55. i've been researching and downloading to try and get the audio sorted. tried XviD-1.1.3-28062007 (still can't get sound).
am now looking at audio format as below.
AC3 5.1 dolby sound test works fine. (still no sound). i'll get there in the end. but, again, thanks for your comment!

I'm looking forward to watching your movies and trying them out but I aparently don't have the right codec. Wich one is needed?

fuzznutz84 (2008-04-07)

if your looking for the right codec... try searching TPB for vista codecs or a similer codec package. It will include almost every codec you will ever need. Once y dl the codec package (preferably on your desktop) unrar with winrar if needed (or whatever .rar extracter you choose) install and thats it.

fuzznutz84 (2008-04-07)

P.S. make sure it is legit first. Gotta love the bastards that put fake shit on here.

fuzznutz84 (2008-04-07)

I have a question also if I may? Can someone e-mail me the best way to upload torrents on TPB? I would like to know the best programs to use to make torrents and such also. I've DL'ed a lot and think its time to add to and support TPB and all of the people using TPB (except the fakers). Also if you have questions it is fine to e-mail me. My e-mail is fuzznutz84@aol.com

dougkelf (2008-08-07)

Son of a b****... It stops playing at 1:10 at my dvd player. I tested on my laptop and it can continue from that part.
I'm having many problems with these xvid/divx 5.1 movies.

Jack_Raiden (2008-11-06)

Thanks RoCK. I own the Blu-ray, but unfortunately not a BD reader to lend a backup to family. This DVDRip looks fantastic, as always. Full resolution, 5.1 audio, the works. And Thanks seeders!

krbsmyn (2009-02-12)

seed pls.
