Don't think this will run well on GMA chips, but you're free to try!
3. Known Issues:
- no mouse in menu, just use your arrow keys to navigate it.
- holographic eye candy doesn't exist
- in space the planet misses
- mouse might be a bit sluggish at times

There is no way to save your game since you can't move the mouse in menus, I don't feel like keeping the game open 24/7, please find a fix to this...

All Game I tested with CXZ works bad, poor performances, lags, really bad trip game?

The game works in OS X 10.6.3 and above. Won't work properly on older OS X versions - severe graphics bugs (missing walls and other objects). Tested and confirmed by many users on other trackers.
Known issues:
- no mouse in menu
- 'ghost' cursor
- missing EA logo on the first screen, missing menus and messages frames, missing pictures on the level loading screens
- spaceship virtual control panels and virtual space maps are invisible
- the first scene (crash) is rendered with errors - the planet in the outer space on the left on the screen is missing and most other objects in the outer space too (see the beginning of the game trailer (in the EXTRAS folder) for proper picture) and the lighting is invalid

Ok got it- you have to open the readme, install a seperate engine to help with gameplay, and change a text file that controls settings. The readme lays it out perfectly. Thanks thenoobish

I have a MBP with 1GB of RAM and ATI X1600.
When I'm in the win, the game runs.
But the game does not run the macosx.
Wine says that the graphics card has minime System Requirements.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

i have the same problem as graysonmac. whenever i go to change the language in the txtedit, it tells me that it cannot be changed because it is a read only file! also, whenever i go to open the game itself, the icon bounces on my dock for a few seconds and then just dissapears and the game never even opens. help?

i'm using a new mac mini, 10.8.01, with mountain lion. and the game doesn't start. i've installed the game engine as instructed, and the game in my applications. i tried rebooting and deleting & re-installing everything a couple of times. no-go at this show :-( also the text edit doesn't allow the change to the english version, as if that mattered :-P
i'm not the most experienced mac user, if anyone can give me a tip i'd be chuffed.. :-)

I'm having trouble to open the game, I have a Mac OS X 10.6.8, 2GHz Intel Core i7, memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3, and every time I try to open the game (after doing all that is told on "readme", like installing CXZ) it says "you Graphics Card dos not meet Dead Space minimum requirements", is it because it's 2GHz instead of 2,4GHz? I don'to understand much about it, can some one help me? What should I do to fix the problem?

This game requires the CXZ Aquamarine engine (included in EXTRAS folder).

There are both Russian and English version in this release. Default is Russian version - to enable English version CTRL-CLICK on application icon, choose 'Show Package Contents', find this file:
Dead Settings:Application Data:Electronic Arts:Dead Space:settings.txt
and set
Locale = en

Mouse don't work in menus, use keyboard.

There are saved games for all levels in EXTRAS folder - put them into:
~:Documents:Electronic Arts:Dead Space

For ATI cards the game works properly in OS X 10.6.3. For NVidia cards it may work on older OS X versions.
