I followed your instructions step by step, just as you said to, and when it came time to put the serial in, it told me both didn't work. It says in your instructions that there's a bug that makes it not accept the serial the first time, to start it up and enter the serial on the first run. I tried that and neither serial worked. Any help? Are there other serials that work?

Yes...it's me again. I figured out my issue. Also your version of Photoshop CS5.1 Extended worked with this serial 1330-1034-6108-6307-6472-1237. The first serial listed in the instructions for this worked!

This is Illustrator CS3 and not CS5 - After extracting Adobe Illustrator CS5.1.exe you get a folder called "Adobe CS3" and the setup.exe there says it's installing CS3.

I tried and tried to install this Illustrator, replaced hosts and amtlib as instructed, but the program kept shutting down 2 seconds after I opened it. I tried googling the problem and here's how I solved it.
The culprit was Bridge CS5. 1 which came with Photoshop. I uninstalled it and reinstalled Illustrator and now it works fine.

It then tells me the down load is corrupted!!! Do I need to redownload or is it something I am doing????

INSTALLING INSTRUCTIONS & SERIALS:
1) Open the program file (What you downloaded)
2) Open "Adobe Illustrator CS5.1" Folder (The folder that you extracted in step 1)
3) Go to "SOFTWARE"
4) Click "Set-up"
5) Follow instructions to install
6) During Step 5 you will come across a screen that asks for the serials. Keep this window open. Go to the "INSTALLING INSTRUCTIONS.txt" file. There you will find the Serials for step 5.
That's it! Your done. Now open and enjoy.

Hey Bro! I downloaded this and when I clicked on it hoping it would extract, I froze my computer. There was no Icon on it. All I saw was Adobe Illustrator CS5.exe and no Icon.
I had to do a Hard Reboot...

Hi people, I downloaded adobe indesign and illustrator from thethingy but i cant seem to extract the file to see its content and install! This is the first time am having this problem, I have downloaded adobe photoshop from thethingy before and it was smooth installation! I have a win 7 32bits. Please some one help....what file extention is this download and how do i extract it properly to see the contents like evry other person! I have winzip and rar also! Pls someone help!

If you're having problem with getting the installer to show up (the file shows up after download without an extension)
Right click on the file, and rename it. Remove the "." in the filename, and then add ".exe" at the end. Good to go.

I had a question about the "host" file.
I recently did this with AVG in which I needed to
take out the host file and place it on my desktop as a backup. Then I had to place AVG's host file in my original files place. I now, have to do the same thing for Illustrator but that would mean taking out the AVG host file and replacing it with the Illustrator host file. Does this mean I'll somehow mess up my AVG? Is there a way I can have both host files so that I could use AVG AND Illustrator?

I had the same issue that someone else did where it would ask to me to insert a disk. I was trying to install from a flash drive when I was getting this error, I transferred the installation files to my computer and ran the setup again and it worked fine. I was using method one where you edit the hosts file before the installation. Hope this helps anyone it pertains to.

So I downloaded it, everything worked fine but I think I messed up somewhere during the Host Backup part. I didn't understand if I was supposed to write something on there or not. Really new to the whole thing so yeah. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. When I do type in one of the serial numbers and it works, but then after it's open I get a message saying that the serial number is no longer valid.

One question, I'm sort of ocd about keeping my pc clean of files/Random junk that's not needed and only takes up space. my question is if after Ive installed the program and see that its working properly (which it is) can i delete the torrent files/etc. only keeping the adobe cs5 application without it stopping working correctly?

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. "software" folder does not include the necessary setup.exe file.
I have no idea why anyone else would claim to have installed this...

Weird--I deleted the folders, re-extracted it, and the file showed up.
If anyone else finds the setup.exe file missing, be sure to delete the entire folder (not the installer you initially download) and then extract again.
