@everybody - just play directly from HD connected to a usb media port on a cheap phllips dvd (maybe samsung also) player from walmart ($57). Format external hd in 4 Fat32 partitions of 32 Gigs and viola you have a movie pod, who cares about 1,2 or as many cds or parts with this method it goes from one file to the next inside the folder. Just separate all movies and their parts in their own folders and no issues. I have 5 hd with 20 diff partitions, about 500 movies at my finger tips.

I've never checked the size difference between the rars and the movie extracted, but i fear it's very little...

To join two avi files go download virtualdub from here
Fairly simple, u will be able to save joined file and watch on p.c. or write to dvd with xtodvd.

re making two cd releases into one... took me a minute to figure it out too... i use convertxtodvd, and change the options to play titles without reverting to menu or something of that sort. fiddle with the menu options and you'll see the check box. trying to concatenate using virtualdub or similar is possible, but a nightmare in my experience. its easier and just as effective to load both files and just tell the menu to play them sequentially rather than try to concatenate avi's and then convert.

monkiesatemybaby : Joining the two halves in convertxtodvd like that produces a slight pause at the join. Virtual Dub is easy to use:-
File/open video file/ (locate cd1)
with cd 1 loaded,,, go to:-
'Video' and click 'direct stream copy'
do the same for 'Audio'
then
File/append avi segment/ locate cd2
then
File/save as avi
...................
It only takes a minute or so to join them
