This doesn't seem to work? I've tried to extract the iso, run it as a bootable iso off my thumbdrive. My eee pc just overlooks it? I'm hitting the escape key and signifying the boot order as well. What am I doing wrong?

Ok, I can confirm this is a great install of XP for the EEE. Couple notes: the default language will be Slovenian, so go into the settings and change that after you install.
Also, the sound does not work, to get it to work, download this hotfix for SP3:

Also, UXthemepatcher does not work with this because it is sp3, if you want to use a custom theme, download the sp3 theme patch from here:

Then you have to manually add the theme to your resources section. I think it is in C:/windows32/resources or something like that. It won't let you delete the original theme, so I changed the name, then added the new one, restarted, and I could change the theme after that.

hi, great install on my US Asus EEE 4go black 16 go SDHC, after deleting pagefile file , just 680mo left .... my problem is to connect with my wifi ADSL router (WPA authentification) .... it seems that SP3 have changes some stuff in wifi networks detection and settings .... my wifi connection works perfectly on my 15"4 fujitsu XP SP2 laptop , and i also tried to connect at the hotspot wifi at Mac Donalds ^_^, it works great ..... does anybody knows what can i do to set the asus eee wifi connection ?????

brainfogs, try going to network connections> wireless internet connection>properties>internet protocol tcp/ip>properties>and set to automaticly obtain IP address and automaticly obtain dns server.

Does this only "work great" with certain (later) EeePC models? I tried to boot up with the disc and all I got is BOOT_VOLUME_UNMOUNTABLE [blah blah blah] and Technical information: 0x000000ED. Any ideas? If it'd help, I tried booting with my genuine XP disc, and I got the same thing. Then I tried the USB stick installation method found on an EeePC guide, and the installation went through, albeit with a lot of hassle. Would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.

Destroyed my system
P4,intel 865gbf,512 ram, not asus
Corrupted my BIOS, finally had to flash my BIOS.
Deleted my primary partition and corrupted that partition(no easy recovery possible) which had ubuntu. It also restructured my partition table,
but didnt resize it.
All of these where done on its own accord, it has a mind of its own!!! and probably hates ubuntu!
Use at your own risk, and be ready for BIOS recovery!
Maybe it'll work on ASUS eee PC

Good XP lite. For ASUS EEEPC get latest drivers from ASUS.
There is a driverbackup for EEpc here at PB , but its still needs latest drivers.
No USB working, get the latest Chipset ini from ASUS.
Network won't work? Magic fix is, shutdown, remove battery, replace, the reboot, and it works :)

I have installed this to my Asus Eee PC 4G and
It works, make sure tht u format all partitions before installation. At the logon it says all the time when i restart windows: The system could not log you in.
and when you log in in safe move it finds user named seba, and you cannot log in because u dont know the password! this means that whoever created this modified xp can use an backdoor and log in when u are connect to the internet, but i am taking this risk because xp is running quite good. And of course installing this thing, will it be at your own risk...

Don't use on 900.
Will stop you from installing ACPI modules for EEE 900. This will make it power hungry and warm :).
No clocking of cpu, hotkeys doesn't work ++
In n-lite you have to check the multi-cpu option or ASUS acpi will fail to install

As previously mentioned, to fix any sound issues, install the Windows SP3 patch from here http://viceless.net/files/KB835221.exe
To fix the logon error at startup (including the hidden seba account), hold the Windows button and press R for the run window to appear. Enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 and hit OK. Tick Users must enter username etc and then you can rename seba, and also recommend changing all passwords to blank (empty) even though they already are technically. This will fix the problem. You can then add whatever passwords you want after reboot. Do not delete the seba account as it is the main admin account... just rrename it to Administrator.
To fix the lan and wireless, do not download the drivers for 701SD on the Asus site. Do a search for the eeepc 4G Surf instead.

The network drivers are different. You'll then find these drivers install and work correctly. Good luck.

This is fantastic Windows XP SP3 Version.
I must say everything looks great but I've noticed that Hardware Abstract layer is limited.
I could install on a Dell Demension 4600 Desktop.
Everything else worked but my hyperthread is not in the Standard PC i486 C-step "hal.dll".
I was wondering if anyone had all the ACPI Drivers that are 5.1.2600.3300 for this build

Works, just make sure you delete the torrent author's shitty backdoor.
When you install windows:
1) Start >> Run
2) Type "control userpasswords2"
3) Select "seba"
4) Press delete
5) Confirm delete
Now the author is fucked and you have a working image!
