The only significant similarity between Max Payne and Hitman is that both are played in a 3rd person perspective.
Max Payne is an action packed shooter while the goal in Hitman is stealth and the best score is reached by not firing a single bullet.
Great games btw. Max Payne 1 is easily in the top 10 singleplayer shooters of all time.

I can't get Max Payne 2 to work at all... I do EXACTLY what you say in the read me. I mount both .iso's and install it fully, then I do the crack and patch for it (replacing the exe with the crack) when I hit the exe for it, it doesn't do anything. I see my cursor try and load the first time, but the second time I try to do it my cursor doesn't even do that. I also tried to run it in compatibility mode... I have Windows 7 64-bit and I am not at all new to running torrented games... I could use some help though and would love to play this great game...

Guys, in order to run this in 64 bit, you don't have to dual boot or anything. Instead of using the default installer, just go into the "Disk 1" folder on the Max Payne disk and run "Setup".

Also, in order to get sound to work, download this batch file after you've installed the patch and crack and follow the instructions:

Make sure and install the game in a directory other than Program Files (x86) or permissions will screw up the batch file and the game won't be able to run.

i vouch for fishcorn and the vista sound fix, it works (as long as you don\'t have installed in program folder, you will start getting access denied towards the end of the batch thing) i installed mine in my documents. you need to unzip the sound fix, and put the files in your max payne program folder (loose not in the folder it unzips in) and then run batch

Looks like it's on my drive properly. when i go to launch the game it says wrong disc inserted. i tried with both dick 1 and 2 in the cd drive, didn't work. any suggestions. like a no cd patch i need or something? thanks

For you who have trouble playing on Windows 7 64-bit:
1. Install the game by exploring the mounted CD - C: (or wherever your disc is at) --> Disk1 --> setup.exe.
2. After the installation is complete (use another location than Program Files x86), patch the game.
3. Now you need to install the Sound Fix. DL the file at:
Extract the files to your installation directory and run MaxBatch.exe
4. put the crack from the crack-folder into your installation folder
5. Play!

The game runs but no sound during cutscenes on win 7 64bit. I did what Ratmanslim said, but it screwed up the game- after that I couldn't even run the game properly.

Works great on win 7 64 bit if you do what ratmanslim did. The maxbatch.exe will seem like it's stuck when it keeps repeating 1 line a few times but just keep waiting. When it asks you to press anything to continue press it and it should work with sound.
