It's super simple to install and much less bloated than any of the other options that I've tried. (like Tversity, Orb, Mediahome) Or if you prefer to convert the files for direct download onto your machine you can use mkv2vob. Due to the high volume of requests I recieve. fools....cccp's media player classic, that'll work for you, just download cccp and then right click the video file and then open with media player classic
and voila you got it working

I tried to convert to AVI and couldn't do it though it would play as an MKV.

This plays fine in VLC. People reporting otherwise might want to try reinstalling or updating their version.
