DISCO HITS (v1.1) - The BEST late 70's early 80's disco/dance/funk (216 songs) * This version is an update to my origial Disco Hits collection. Added a few, removed a few, plus one or two corrections. All you need for a groovy Disco Party! Mostly disco, spanning roughly mid 70's to early 80's with quite a few funk tunes and a few interesting remakes/remixes thrown in. I put together this collection thinking of QUALITY not quantity. I tried to limit this collection to the tunes that were widely known and popular back then, rather than throw together as many songs as possible. I also decided what was in or out based on what I liked and what sounded good to me. If we're lucky, you'll like it too :-) I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I had fun putting it together. In a collection such as this there are always more tunes that could be suggested. Both of your suggestions are decent. (though I wouldn't necessarily say "key")
By all means, make more suggestions and if enough good ones are made, maybe I'll put together v1.2.

Thanks for the effort, but, the No.1 thing I want to know about music from this era is : 'is it the 12 inch version' before the track means anything to me. I am not going to download this lot to find out!

A few of these are the 12" versions, but most are normal length. (Actually I deliberately chose the album version on several occasions) Keep in mind that most of the time, the longer version is the same as the regular version... just with some sections of the song repeated. So if you really really really need 12" versions of all songs, just play each one twice ;-)

Don't be too fixated on bitrate. Anything over 128 is just fine for a quality casual MP3 collection. Actually, 96 will do in a pinch for many types of music on all but the finest equipment. These are assorted... 128-320.
And keep in mind that some portable MP3 players choke on VBR MP3's.

dude! OK, I will say thanks for the share. But I have to add that I am justa little bit pissed off with the amount of 128 kbps mp3s in this collection - like wayyyy to many maan and they sound crap.
Also, you have included too many songs that simply do not fall under the category for Disco. It would have been better to leave out the remakes by Spice Girls and other shit :)
Then quite a lot of stuff here is more funk/jazz funk. Would be better to put them in a seperate torrent. I wanted Disco and nothing but disco :)
Thanks anyway though. Some gems in this collection.

Well djwhatshisface all you have to do is unclick the tracks you dont want and 128kbps is just fine. I rip mine at that alot and comes out fine.

brilliant collection, thank you so much. but I have to agree with some of the comments, 128 kbps is just not good enough when listening with decent speekers.
