Please note that regular DVD players are incapable of rendering Hi-Definition video, so they will NOT play this movie without re-encoding it. Alternatively, if you want to stream the movie or watch it on your computer, PowerISO v4.5 or any later version can be used to extract the files and folders from the iso. This is a blu-ray/AVCHD iso, not a DVD iso, so applications like WinRAR or MagicISO will NOT recognise it. The movie file itself will be located in the BDMV/STREAM folder, and will be named "00000.m2ts". Once extracted, if you decide to save the movie by burning it onto a DVD5 disc, your ImgBurn settings need to be as follows:- Click "Write files/folders to disc" Add both the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders Select the Options Tab- Data Type = MODE1/2048 File System = UDF UDF Revision = 2.50 Make sure that the "Recurse Subdirectories" field IS checked, and all other fields are NOT checked. Insert your DVD5 disc and click Burn. The relevant codecs need to be installed to watch any HD movie on your computer. K-Lite's codec pack is free to download, but there are others. The subtitles that are included with this release are not forced, so as with any other HD video formats, they will NOT display if you watch the movie on your computer unless you add them externally. Fair warning - Many computers will struggle to render Hi Def video smoothly unless they're up-to-date and/or fast, so if the movie is sluggish or out-of-sync, don't worry; it's your hardware, not us! thank you for the ups, really appreciate them, blu ray compliant files make things much easier. would you consider encoding 1080p files in 8 gb size ( dvd9) ..with 7 or 8 mb video bitrates..I know that most people do not want them that large, but i know with what you do , the quality would be great...anyway thanks again...keep up the good work..

To answer your question; The aim is, quality for size/cost. In my opinion, what would be gained in video/audio quality by re-encoding for DVD9 is miniscule compared with what would be lost in Dual Layer disc cost, reliability, and popularity because of those factors.
If technology allowed DVD9/BD-R discs to be bought for pennies as indeed DVD5 discs are, and everyone enjoyed much faster down/upstream speeds, I'd just lift the original data from blu-ray discs and upload those, because it would be the best result for everyone, AND it would save me a day+ re-encoding 1080p movies, lol. Unfortunately, that isn't the case...yet.
It's still food-for-thought, so thank you for your input. =)
