I wasn't able to completely fix the error, but was able to significantly clean up the rest of the track by buffing the surface of the CD at the damaged area. Still, be aware that starting from ~1:00:51 - 1:06:01 there will be some noticeable skipping, some quite bad.

Do these audio books really come with only one track per CD. I thought they usually come with 5 to 12 minute tracks. My mp3 player jumps back to the start of each track after being shut off in the middle...a real problem trying to find where you left off. Just wondering?

raindr0ps: I had trouble with that before, my solution was a MP3 Splitting Application. I don't remember which but there are plenty of them out there.
