Description:

ENLIGHTEN YOURSELF WITH: Being.Human.S01E00.Pilot.WS.PDTV.XviD-AFFiNiTY --Release Details Release Date ....: 18/02/08 Air Date ........: 18/02/08 Duration ........: 60 mins (700MB) Info/URL ........: N/A --Release Notes The first of six drama pilots sees Doctor Who/Torchwood writer Toby Whithouse attempt a modern British monster mash. Two blokes share a house: one's a vampire, the ot- her's a werewolf. Whithouse melds the fantasy genre's usual pompous portent with modest, very British fl at- share humour and scenes where the freaks clash painfully with mundane reality. Sometimes it's an uneasy mix, and Guy Flanagan annoyingly overplays the vampire's mercurial, rock-star cool but Russell Tovey (Rudge from The History Boys) is brilliant as the nerdy wolfman, and there are several moments of prickling, singularly stylish horror. We're looking for the usual.. the moon on a stick. Find us if you think you're good enough. in 2oo7 ----------- SHOCK AND AWESKEE BY elle of VANDALs

This is a really good show. Instantly quirky sort of, it takes no time to "get used" to the characters. They work well off of each other. And always good to put a little humanity spin on it. Good that it invokes some thought prompts.
I'm a big fan of Torchwood, Doctor Who, Primeval, Life on Mars. I consider this British sci-fi probably the greatest in the world.
If anyone can post me some suggestions of good sci-fi british drama that is damn good and underappreciated or damn good and popular as hell, I'd love more suggestions.

potusom, have you seen Red Dwarf? Quality sci-fi, as well as being totally hilarious ^_^
Can't wait for Being Human to start on Sunday

If you can get hold of it, try Ultraviolet:

That's the BBC TV series, not the crappy Jovovich vehicle.

mrfog (2009-01-26)

Make that Channel 4, not BBC. But still... an awesome series.

TheNightWolf (2009-02-03)

Is this pilot different from episode 1, or are they basically the same?

WarpWar (2009-02-05)

yeah it's different, it's kinda a pre-episode where the vamp and were get the apartment.
it's worth a watch, although they re-cast the ghost and vampire, makes it kinda weird.

greylion (2009-02-17)

The ghost gets recast in the rest of the series, with a woman with a darker skin - a definite improvement, the ghost in this one is so pale she almost looks sick.
But yes, it's weird first watching this and then the rest of the series with a different person as the ghost.

Keerak (2009-07-06)

Too bad they re-casted the vamp and ghost, I liked the ones in the pilot better. Have only seen first episode though... oh, and the sexual tension between the wolf and the dog as they're looking at the house, not bad...

Thomps6o (2010-10-14)

hey thanks...alot of people do not realize when they make "complete season 1" that there was a pilot "S01E00". What I mean by that is that nobody has it, they all start with "S01E01" thinking it was the first episode....it took me a while just to realize this myself!
